Ace Frehley’s cause of death from fatal fall revealed

Ace Frehley was a remarkably talented guitarist. While he was a key part of the hugely popular band KISS, their elaborate stage shows sometimes overshadowed his skill. However, Frehley brought a significant depth and musicality to the group’s sound.

Ace Frehley, the renowned guitarist, sadly passed away on October 16th at the age of 74. He died from injuries sustained in a fall at his home studio. The Morris County Medical Examiner in New Jersey determined the fall was accidental, and the cause of death was a fractured skull, a subdural hematoma, and a stroke resulting from those injuries.

It was so sad when we lost him. I remember seeing Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and even Peter Criss from KISS sharing how heartbroken they were online, and so many other musicians did too. They held a small, private memorial for him in Yonkers, and then a funeral service over in The Bronx. It was a tough time for everyone.

KISS plans to recognize Ace Frehley at their event this weekend (November 14-16), called KISS Kruise: Landlocked in Vegas. Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley will be there with the band’s current members, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer. While the event isn’t solely focused on Frehley, his recognition will likely be a highlight.

Ace Frehley played with KISS twice: from 1973 to 1982, and again from 1996 to 2002. Throughout his time with the band, he contributed to 10 studio albums and 3 live albums. Beyond KISS, he released 10 studio albums as a solo artist or with his band, Frehley’s Comet.

In 2011, the guitarist published his autobiography, No Regrets: A Rock ‘N’ Roll Memoir, which quickly became a New York Times bestseller, reaching the top ten in non-fiction.

Following the news of Ace Frehley’s passing, many musicians paid tribute online, including Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson from Rush, as well as members of Pantera and Anthrax.

Though Ace Frehley first gained fame with a flashy hard rock group, his impact on music has been incredibly significant.
