Absolute Nonsense!

Last summer, he reconciled with his brother Liam, marking the beginning of their legendary act’s grand return for a blockbuster tour following 15 years of disagreement.

It appears that instead of expressing criticism elsewhere, Noel Gallagher directed his disapproval towards another prominent figure in the music world, specifically rap artist Kendrick Lamar, following his contentious performance at the Super Bowl half-time show.

On Sunday evening, the 37-year-old American musician performed energetically at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, taking aim verbally at his rival in hip hop, who is 38-year-old Drake.

A week after winning five Grammys in LA, the event featured a choreographed dance atop a vehicle and a performance of several of his most popular songs, including the top charting diss track “Not Like Us”.

However, Noel Gallagher, who is part of the band Oasis and is 57 years old, was quite critical about the entire situation. In a recent interview with talkSPORT on Tuesday, he criticized Kendrick’s performance and also voiced concerns about American influence in football.

Or:

Noel Gallagher, the 57-year-old member of Oasis, didn’t seem too impressed by the whole event. In an interview with talkSPORT on Tuesday, he found issues with Kendrick’s performance and expressed worries about American involvement in football.

He said: ‘I had to switch it off. It was absolute nonsense.

I didn’t finish watching it; instead, I turned it off. In just the initial two minutes, around 300 individuals were seen exiting a vehicle.

I must clarify, however, that I’m not fond of the halftime spectacle and such. Typically, I’m not a fan of artists, but I do enjoy watching the Super Bowl. This season, in particular, has drawn my interest – it’s been quite entertaining, in my opinion.

‘I never watch the half-time show, I’m not interested in it.

“I don’t look forward to seeing our sport in the Champions League final, but mark my words, it’s on its way. The influence of American teams is growing; they’re dominating the Premier League, the Champions League, and by the time we reach 20 years from now, their presence will be commonplace and the notion of a non-American dominance may seem absurd.

On previous occasions, Noel hasn’t shied away from expressing his disapproval when a hip hop artist has been the main act at a significant event. In one instance, he vocally disagreed with Jay-Z being invited to headline Glastonbury, stating it was an incorrect decision.

He told the BBC in 2008: ‘Glastonbury has a tradition of guitar music.’

In response, Jay-Z countered by playing a video clip containing Liam Gallagher’s critical remarks prior to his performance, followed by a performance of their well-known song, Wonderwall.

Midway through the Philadelphia Eagles’ dominant victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in this year’s Super Bowl, it was Kendrick who grabbed the spotlight.

Regardless of Drake filing a lawsuit against Universal Music Group, the label they both share, regarding the disputed track “Not Like Us” that allegedly labels Drake as a ‘pedophile,’ it’s worth noting that despite this conflict, his rival (Kendrick) still performed the song, but omitted the specific word in question.

It appears the musician chose not to utter the insult to avoid another legal dispute. Just before starting his rap, he informed the audience, “I’d like to perform your favorite song, but you know they always sue them.

In a surprising turn of events, the rapper’s appearance was preceded by Samuel L. Jackson, a 76-year-old actor known for his distinctive voice, who donned the costume of ‘Uncle Sam’. He then delivered a series of his most popular songs as an introduction. Later on, R&B sensation SZA, aged 35, joined him on stage.

As a die-hard admirer, I can confirm that Kendrick continued to push boundaries with not one, but two more thought-provoking lyrics: “I think you’ll find Drake prefers his fans on the younger side,” and “Strumming for harmony, but it’s likely to be a minor key,” all while the audience echoed his every word.

Additionally, he donned a large silver chain pendant bearing a tiny letter ‘a’, symbolically referencing ‘A minor’ in the song’s lyrics and denim attire by Celine.

Last weekend, Kendrick Lamar’s harsh rap song directed at Drake (who was touring in Australia at the time) earned him two Grammys: Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

In May, the popular song went viral which controversially found Kendrick Lamar accusing Drake of being a suspected pedophile and pursuing underage individuals. However, Drake refuted these accusations in his response track titled The Heart Part 6, stating that you won’t find his name on any sex offender registry.

Tennis superstar Serena Williams, previously rumored to be associated with Drake, could be seen grooving to Kendrick Lamar’s rendition of “Not Like Us.

During a particularly intense moment at the performance, an individual carrying a Palestinian flag attempted to rush onto the stage during halftime, but was stopped by the security personnel.

Fans inside the stadium saw the drama unfold but TV cameras didn’t show it to viewers.

Kendrick rocked a blue and white jacket, a black shirt, blue jeans and a backwards hat.

A group of backup dancers in red, white, and blue attire came together and created the shape of an American flag as they joined him.

During the show, Jackson briefly reappeared and addressed the audience, saying, “It’s too boisterous, too wild, too urban. Young Mr. Lamar, are you truly familiar with the rules of this game?

As a devoted admirer, I showcased a solo act, painting vivid scenes with Wacced out murals, Bodies, Squabble, Euphoria, Humble, DNA, man at the garden, and Peekaboo. Only after that captivating performance did the radiant SZA grace the stage alongside me.

The pair showcased their collaborative pieces, including “Luther” and “All the Stars”. SZA dazzled in a vibrant red ensemble. Additionally, Kendrick was accompanied by DJ Mustard on stage during the performance.

He finished off his performance with the song TV Off.

Kendrick’s newest critic, Noel Gallagher, is preparing for a summer reunion with his brother Liam Gallagher, planning to embark on a tour together again following a 16-year hiatus.

Enthusiasts went wild the previous summer as Noel and Liam, both aged 52, declared they had resolved their disputes and planned to make a comeback in 2025.

For the first time since their split in 2009, sparked by a fight backstage at the Rock en Seine festival in France, the shows will mark their reunion on stage together.

The news triggered a rush to secure concert tickets for the shows taking place in Manchester, Cardiff, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin.

They will also play in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Australia.
