Absolute Joker Variant Covers Already Commanding Top Dollar on eBay

The comic book Absolute Batman #15 is gaining popularity and value, with prices increasing online. Many fans consider it one of the best Batman stories in recent years, making the high demand understandable.

According to Bleeding Cool, the new Absolute Batman #15 (created by Scott Snyder, Jock, Frank Martin, and Clayton Cowles) is already selling for much more than its cover price. Just days after its release, copies with the main cover by Nick Dragotta are going for around $15 on eBay, despite only costing $4.99 in stores.

Certain limited-edition covers for this new comic book issue, featuring the first look at the terrifying form of the Absolute Joker, are now selling for over $100. The variant cover by Jock, a retailer incentive with a 1:50 ratio, is currently going for more than $50. Exclusive covers created for individual retailers by artists like Dave Wilkins, Tyler Kirkham, and Clay Mann are also fetching similar, and sometimes even higher, prices.

The price increase was anticipated, given the significant interest surrounding the issue and its dramatic content. However, the speed at which the price has risen is remarkable. Considering that approximately 300,000 copies of Absolute Batman #15 are available, this jump in price on the resale market is especially noteworthy.

Absolute Batman #15 Is A Big Deal

DC Comics’ Absolute Batman #15 will feature a team-up between writer Scott Snyder and artist Jock. This issue reveals the story behind the man Alfred has been pursuing for years – and that man is the Joker! This is an epic story set within the Absolute Universe.

Since the release of Absolute Batman #1 last year, a mysterious figure has been lurking in the background. Fans have finally gotten a clear look at this terrifying villain. Before now, the Joker appeared as a wealthy, serious man in a white suit. But with Absolute Batman #15, readers are now seeing the Joker’s true power and discovering what he’s really like.

Based on what readers have discovered, the Joker has been secretly continuing his legacy through generations of imposters. Over the years, he’s built up immense wealth and power, allowing him to imprison his enemies on secluded, private islands, saving them for when he wants to torment them again.

Before revealing this new version of the Joker, writer Scott Snyder shared a detail about the character’s appearance. He explained on social media that the red lines above the Joker’s eyes in a variant cover for Absolute Batman #15 are actually his mouth, complete with teeth. He shared this as a hint for fans to look closely at the artwork.

Absolute Batman #15 is on sale now from DC Comics.
