Abby Chatfield’s boyfriend is beaten by UK singer Olivia Dean to take out the top spot in Triple J’s Hottest 100

Olivia Dean has been crowned the winner of this year’s Triple J’s Hottest 100 countdown.

The British singer’s hit song, “Man I Need,” reached number one on the charts on Saturday.

Coming in at number two was one half of Aussie duo Peking Duk, Keli Holiday, with his hit Dancing2.

Oh my god, I can’t even imagine being inside Triple J when they announced the Hottest 100! Apparently, Holiday – Adam Hyde, you guys, Adam Hyde – was practically in tears when he found out how high he’d placed! And get this – he’s dating Abbie Chatfield! It’s just… everything a fan could dream of! I’m so happy for him, honestly. He deserves all the success!

‘I want to weep, I feel so so happy right now, it’s beautiful,’ he said.

Watching ‘Dancing2’ showed me that love is the most powerful force, and expressing love is the most wonderful thing we can do.

Tame Impala’s song ‘Dracula’ came in third place, and Playlunch landed at number four with their popular song ‘Keith’.

People—both fans and critics of Tame Impala—immediately noticed how consistently the band has appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 chart over the years.

Someone joked that, like death and taxes, you could always expect a full Tame Impala album to appear on the Hottest 100 list. Another person commented that it’s impressive how the band has managed to get 29 songs onto the list over the past decade by essentially remixing and re-releasing the same core ideas.
