Abbie Chatfield shocks as she makes confession about her real name – and drops another hint she is preparing to marry her boyfriend Adam Hyde

Abbie Chatfield has stunned by revealing that she is not using her real surname. 

This week, a TikTok post featured The Bachelor star, aged 29, disclosing that she employs a distinct surname in her official records, rather than the one commonly associated with her family.

here’s an interesting twist: It turns out that, legally speaking, I haven’t gone by the name Chatfield for the past two years.

‘I changed my name to a different family name. I am changing it as soon as I can,’ she continued. 

Regardless of whether my partner is a man, a woman, or someone who identifies as non-binary, I’d gladly adopt their last name right away.

Abbie did not reveal what the surname was and said she did not want to state it publicly. 

Additionally, she mentioned that she holds no personal connection to Chatfield, as it pertains to a person who abandoned his loved ones.

In the comment, Abbie admitted that her real name isn’t Abigail, though she didn’t clarify whether “Abbie” is a short form of another name or something different entirely.

In a recent conversation, Abigail suggested once more that she and her boyfriend, Adam Hyde, might be considering marriage, as she stated emphatically that she would gladly adopt his last name if they were to get married.

Once again, within the past few weeks, the star has hinted at the possibility that the duo might be planning for the future.

Last year in June, both the podcaster and the musician from Peking Duk made their relationship official, hinting that it’s progressed quite significantly.

Lately, Abbie hinted on her Instagram Stories that she and Adam could be tying the knot soon.

She shared that she’s previously attempted to secure the Instagram username ‘Abbie Hyde’, a potential change for her if she marries Adam.

Before any official commitment, Abbie sadly discovered that the desired username she had aimed to secure had already been claimed by another user.

‘If [me and Adam] ever break up, I’m actually going to f**king lose it,’ she said.

At an influencer gathering, it wasn’t until after my friend had consumed three glasses of Chardonnay that they asked if I had saved Abbie Hyde’s Instagram handle, prompting me to attempt to secure the Instagram handle for Abbie Hyde myself.

Instead of saying “I don’t know what the f**k to do,” you could rephrase it as “I’m not sure what to do now.” And instead of “plagued with the thought” you could say “struggling with the idea,” so the sentence becomes: “Now I’m struggling with the idea of what to change my Instagram handle to when I marry him.” This makes the language more natural and easy to read.

Abby and Adrian have been thriving more and more ever since they made their relationship public, and interestingly, she’s been joining him for live shows.

On New Year’s Eve, she took the stage alongside Adam for their band Peking Duk’s performance at the Hindley St Music Hall in Adelaide, as they welcomed 2025 together.

As I scroll through their Instagram posts, it’s evident that this duo isn’t bashful about expressing their affection. They don’t hesitate to share heartfelt moments with their massive following, even in the midst of the bustling crowds.

The on-stage video depicted the pair counting down together towards 2025, followed by another affectionate New Year’s smooch they shared with the audience.

Additionally, Abby joined forces with Reuben Styles, a fellow member of Adam’s band Peking Duk, during their performance. They engaged in playful antics like chasing each other and bumping chests, entertaining the audience together.

In this post, Abby excitedly shared: “For the past two years, I’ve had such a deep crush on him that I needed to mute him on social media. And then, during his New Year’s Eve performance, he paused to confess his love for me?!
