Abbie Chatfield returns to social media five hours after announcing she was ‘deleting the apps’ and taking a break
As a lifestyle expert with extensive experience in social media and mental health, I can wholeheartedly appreciate Abbie Chatfield‘s decision to take a break from social media platforms to protect her emotional well-being. In today’s fast-paced digital world, it is crucial for individuals like Abbie, who have a significant online presence, to prioritize their mental health and wellness.
Abbie Chatfield has just announced a temporary leave from all social media platforms, yet she surprisingly reappeared after only five hours.
On Boxing Day, the star from FBoy Island, who is 29 years old, announced through her Instagram story that she was getting rid of dating apps, after posting a touching video showing her and her boyfriend, Adam Hyde, exchanging gifts in a heartfelt manner.
To start off, Abbie admitted that some individuals may show little interest in her break, expressing it as, “Some folks might say, ‘It doesn’t matter to me.’
She mentioned that she wanted to share some information with everyone who might be interested: she will be taking a break from social media for the next seven days.
Abby shared that she hadn’t used her TikTok or Instagram accounts for a few days, but came back just to post the heartfelt Christmas video she made.
For about four days, she didn’t log in at all and even uninstalled the applications. She thought, “The cookies must have watched the video of Adam” but now, she’s uninstalling the apps once more, as she confessed.
Abby suggested her friends to get in touch with her through text messages whenever necessary, as she was stepping back from social media because of the excessive unfavorable comments she had been receiving.
‘I just want to have a break from everyone,’ Abbie confided.
It’s not the case that someone criticizes me daily; there are people who say something negative about me or to me on occasion, as you understand.
I couldn’t contain my excitement any longer! Only a mere five hours had passed since Abbie announced her departure, and there she was, back on Instagram Stories! It was like she couldn’t stay away from us fans for too long.
Following a few festive holiday snaps, Abbie uploaded a pair of selfies highlighting her jewelry collection.
One photo featured her wearing an ornate necklace from Aussie designer Kaarme Jewels, while another displayed a pair of vintage earrings from Hail The Maison.
After being moved to tears by the touching Christmas present from her boyfriend, Adam Hyde, Abbie took a short break from social media.
On Boxing Day, Abbie posted an intimate video on Instagram where Adam gifted her a horseshoe necklace. (Informal)
The family significance of the jewellery is what made the FBoy Island star emotional.
The necklace, crafted by the Melbourne artist Millie Savage, is a duplicate of the one that Abbie’s deceased grandmother, Carmel, used to wear.
Abbie’s new piece was made even more meaningful by the inclusion of her and Adam’s birthstones.
As Abbie grasped the importance of the present shown in the video, a wave of emotions swept over her, leaving her at a loss for words.
Titling the heartfelt video, Abbie confessed that no gift had ever moved her as deeply as this one did.
‘I’ve never cried so much from a gift,’ she wrote.
Adam unfortunately didn’t have the chance to meet my beloved Grandma, yet he understands her significance in my life. Since her passing, my mom has continued to wear my grandmother’s horseshoe necklace as a constant reminder of her.
Apart from that, Abby additionally honored her grandmother with a heartfelt gesture, sharing that Carmel was a significant source of inspiration for her, serving as one of her most influential role models.
She shared, “My grandmother was the most cherished individual in my life, and a significant influence behind the deeply-held convictions I carry.
In the 1950s, she grew up as an orphan and eventually became a dentist in Queensland. Remarkably, this was three decades prior to when women were first allowed to own bank accounts.
Later on, she commended her considerate partner, who went as far as seeking assistance from Abbie’s mother, to ensure that her special present became a tangible reality.
It’s not the first time Abbie decided to take a break from social media.
Following Donald Trump’s win in the U.S. presidential election in November, Abbie emotionally decided to depart from her social media accounts.
Abby posted a brief video where she seemed to be gazing vacantly at the camera, and a message appeared on the screen that was part of a tweet: “The one thing an American supposedly dislikes even more than a rapist is a woman.” (Note: I’ve used “supposedly” to convey that it’s not necessarily true for all Americans.)
Abigail temporarily stepped back from online platforms due to the announcement of Donald Trump’s return to the White House, a decision she made momentarily.
“Here’s the reason it’s painful (and a lot more),” Abby noted. “By the way, I won’t have access to the internet for the next couple of days.
