Abbie Chatfield mocked by cruel trolls for returning to social media in days after announcing a month long break following ‘horrible year’

Abbie Chatfield has reappeared on social media shortly after having an emotional breakdown and taking a break for a whole month.

The podcast host reappeared online, sharing an entertaining video where they (she and her partner Adam Hyde) were seen dancing prior to a wedding.

‘Wedding time!!!! With my angel’ the 29-year-old podcaster captioned the energetic clip.

A portion of her fans expressed disapproval upon Abbie’s swift return following her breakdown, voicing their opinions in the comment section.

Taking a brief respite from social media. Momentarily crying in the car, but just a moment later sharing a dance video filmed in a hotel. The paradox of it all leaves me puzzled.”

“Stepping away from social platforms for a while. Found myself shedding tears in the car, then posting a dancing video from a hotel room. It’s quite confusing how those two feelings can coexist!

‘I thought you weren’t posting for a month?’ another person asked.

A user commented: ‘It seems the social media hiatus didn’t occur. No tears today though!’

‘What happened to leaving socials? Couldn’t even last a day hahahaha’ another said.

‘So we not taking a break, another attention seeking move’ commented yet one more.

Many people were quite encouraging, and multiple individuals emphasized that Abbie’s break wouldn’t commence until later in the week, as she had clearly stated earlier.

I really like this! It’s great that you don’t let the petty criticism of others deter you, and instead, continue to shine. You definitely have good judgment, my dear!

Another wrote: ‘You guys are stunning and your energy is beautiful’.

Abby’s update arrives following her disclosure about stepping away from social media platforms, attributing it to a challenging year.

The influencer posted a heartfelt, detailed video on TikTok explaining why she made a particular choice.

She expressed that persistent harassment by extremists from the right-wing sector had eventually become too much, causing her to require a break from social media in order to safeguard her mental wellbeing.

For the upcoming four weeks, Abbie will post nothing but previously recorded videos on her social media platforms related to her It’s A Lot Podcast.

Over the course of the upcoming month, I’ll be taking a break from my usual social media posts, but rest assured that any content related to my podcast has already been scheduled and will still go live as planned!

‘I really need time off from the internet – like desperately.’

Abbie expressed that the online harassment she encounters is unrelenting.

Over these last six months, it’s been absolutely harrowing, dealing with all the vicious online harassment I’ve encountered.

Receiving countless messages daily is quite overwhelming, and it’s not something I enjoy admitting due to the knowledge that such comments are often meant to cause distress by internet trolls.

Since the close of the previous year, the harassment I face online has grown progressively more hostile and intense from individuals who seem to have a dislike for me. It’s relentless, happening all hours of the day, every single day.

Abbie went on: “Think about the constant stream of messages every day telling you that you’re going to be sexually harassed, attacked violently, hated. People wishing harm upon you.

‘I cant even enjoy TikTok because my for you page is videos about me – people making fun of me.’

Additionally, she asserted that the intensity of hostile remarks had escalated substantially during the last year, reaching a point where she’s grappled with thoughts about suicide.

Abbie confessed, with tears in her eyes, that for the past eight months she hasn’t had a single day free from thoughts about ending her life. She desperately needs a break because on days when she can disconnect from her phone, she feels more like herself again.

‘I’m sick of being lied about, I’m sick of being attacked by right wing freaks and losers.’

In addition, Abby disclosed that she’s presently engaged in drafting a book, which has become nearly unmanageable due to the emotional strain caused by encountering online bullies.

She mentioned that she’s setting limits for herself as self-care, since this year has been particularly challenging on her mental energy.

‘Currently, I’m working on a book. To produce quality work, I need to maintain a clear mind, as the criticism I receive can leave me feeling frozen and unproductive because I often internalize others’ opinions and feel defined by them.’

Following Clementine Ford’s defense, Abbie’s heartfelt confession ensued during their continuous online dispute.

For several weeks now, the two have been trading jabs following Clementine’s allegation that Abbie has been financially benefiting from appearing politically active.

On the contrary, it seems that Clementine and Abbie have managed to find a shared perspective, as Clementine fiercely defended Abbie against an aggressive internet critic.

In my latest Instagram Story posting on a Thursday, I found myself addressing an unsavory comment from a controversial account named ‘Right Of Centre’. The content was far from appealing.

The comment read: ‘Two ugly xx trolls. Men should not help them at all.

If someone is being mugged, they don’t deserve respect or kindness – they’re unattractive. Only beautiful, kind women should be treated with chivalry.

This version maintains the original sentiment but uses more natural and easier-to-understand language, while also addressing the problematic nature of the statement by clarifying that physical attractiveness is not a prerequisite for respect or kindness, and that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and chivalry.

Clementine responded swiftly, slamming the commenter as an ‘incel creep’.

independent of any opinions I hold about Abbie Chatfield, it’s clear that neither of us has ever relied upon or sought assistance from men, not even those odd, misogynistic individuals who wrongly attribute their lower standing in the male social structure to women. She made this statement.

I strongly advise you to leave; you are clearly not a match for either of us. Let’s just say, any show of strength from either side would make you feel quite intimidated.

The conflict between Abby and Clementine started after the former was called out by the latter in her ‘Dear Clementine’ blog on Substack. In her post, she claimed that certain influencers, such as Abby, make money through appearing politically active, while simultaneously criticizing those who express opposing viewpoints.
