Abbie Chatfield looks downcast as she breaks cover following fresh defamation case

Abbie Chatfield appeared downcast when she stepped out solo in Sydney on Friday.

I seriously couldn’t believe it when I saw Abbie out! It’s been, like, *days* since Harrison announced he’s suing her for defamation – can you even imagine?! And it’s so crazy because she *just* finished dealing with another defamation case! I’ve been glued to all the updates, it’s just… a lot.

Even though she seemed a little sad, Abbie wore a bright and cheerful outfit, complete with a yellow tube top decorated with sweet little flowers.

She also wore an eye-catching $250 maxi dress from Sydney-based label Katherina Lou.

The pink plaid dress flowed freely down Abbie’s legs, finishing just above her ankle.

The influencer completed her relaxed outfit with black leather boots and a matching canvas bag worn over her shoulder.

Abbie wore her usual curly brown hair down and kept her jewelry simple with delicate silver earrings and a horseshoe necklace – a gift from her boyfriend, Adam Hyde.

The necklace was created by artist Millie Savage, who is based in Melbourne, and it’s a copy of one that Abbie’s grandmother, Carmel, used to wear.

Abbie’s new piece was made even more meaningful by the inclusion of her and Adam’s birthstones.

She appeared lost in thought on her outing, sporting a downcast expression as she strolled.

This news follows Married at First Sight star Harrison Boon’s announcement that he’s using GoFundMe to cover the costs of a potential defamation lawsuit against a former Bachelor contestant.

Only six days ago, Harrison started a GoFundMe campaign to cover his legal expenses. He says Abbie has repeatedly lied about him and bullied him, which has hurt his business and reputation.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen firsthand how damaging online accusations can be. Recently, a situation unfolded where someone, Abbie, made some very strong claims about me on social media. She publicly called me names – things like ‘sexist’ and ‘alt-right freak’ – and even accused me of supporting harmful ideologies like fascism and Nazism. It’s incredibly upsetting when someone resorts to such explosive language, and it’s something I’m addressing directly.

Daily Mail does not suggest any of these allegations are true.

Harrison stated that the comments were untrue, harmful to his reputation, and had negatively impacted his ability to earn a living.

Every donation to Harrison’s GoFundMe will be used to cover his legal expenses, including his lawyer, court costs, mediation, and any expert witnesses needed for his case.

Abbie has recently resolved another defamation lawsuit, this time involving a former close friend, and is now facing new legal challenges.

Okay, so here’s the latest: a popular social media influencer has been ordered to pay $79,000 to Heath Kelley, who’s currently a law student and used to work in guest services at Virgin Australia. She actually agreed to a Federal Court judgment, meaning she didn’t contest the claim. It’s a reminder that online actions have real-world consequences, and everyone needs to be mindful of that!

In addition to other expenses, the court has ordered Abbie to cover Heath’s legal fees, which are around $30,000. This brings her total costs to over $100,000.

Heath sued Abbie for defamation because her online comments about him were claimed to be untrue and legally problematic, as indicated in a notice sent by his lawyers.

She didn’t dispute the accusation, and earlier this month, Justice Wendy Abraham issued orders against her with her agreement.

On May 7th around 5:30 PM, Abbie, an Instagram user with roughly 550,000 followers, posted untrue and damaging statements about Heath on her Instagram Stories.

Abbie made a post expressing her support for Adam Bandt, the Greens leader, after he lost his seat in Melbourne to Sarah Witty of the Labor party in the 2025 federal election.

Heath, a friend of Abbie’s since around 2011 when they were at school together, sent her a private message with a video and a comment about the leader of the Green party.

Abbie and Mr. Kelley continued their private conversation, and Abbie later shared the messages with her followers.

Abbie: ‘Why are you sending me this.. ? Are you pro Israel? Gross.’

I’m sharing this because it’s great news that he was voted out of office. I’ll be able to rest easier knowing the Jewish community in Melbourne will feel more secure now that he’s no longer in power.

Okay, so he said – and this is HUGE – that because he supports LGBTQ+ rights and women’s rights, he’s pro-Israel. He’s *been* there, twice! It just… it all makes so much sense now. I knew he was amazing, and this just confirms it. It’s not just politics, it’s about his values, and he *visited* the region! I’m telling you, he’s the best.

Abbie: ‘Okay so you’ve lost the plot. By (sic) dude lmao.’

She shared screenshots of her conversation with Mr. Kelley on her Instagram Stories, publicly naming and tagging his account.

She shared a post expressing her shock at receiving a message from an old high school acquaintance – someone she explicitly referred to as an ‘ex-friend.’ They hadn’t communicated in at least three years, and hadn’t really spoken for six or seven years before that.

Someone who supports harmful and unrealistic ideas is strangely criticizing me because a compassionate and forward-thinking politician almost lost an election.

Abbie and Heath were once so close that their relationship sparked romance rumours.

In 2019, Abbie and Heath caused a stir in the tabloids with a provocative online video. During the dance, Abbie affectionately told Heath, ‘I love this song and I love this man.’
