Abbie Chatfield hits back after being trolled over her $70 comedy show: ‘Pay to watch what exactly?’

Abbie Chatfield has hit back at trolls who took to social media to slam her comedic abilities.

An openly vocal figure, aged 30, is presently in New Zealand, delivering performances as a part of her “Trauma Dump” tour.

On Thursday, Abbie posted a video on TikTok, which displayed her performance at Christchurch the previous night (Wednesday).

In the video, Abbie humbly confessed to the crowd that it continually astounds her that individuals choose to spend money on watching her act.

‘You guys actually showed up,’ Abbie said as she surveyed the crowd.

In the wings, she confided in her tour manager, “Apparently nobody showed up, so it doesn’t make a difference,” she explained.

‘But you’re all here, so thank you for coming,’ she beamed at the audience.

Though she appeared to get a friendly response from the crowd who shelled out anywhere between 45 and 71 Australian dollars for a chance to meet her personally, a contrasting narrative unfolded online.

People flocked to the comments to slam Abbie, with one suggesting that she had no talent.

They asked, ‘I’m wondering about her unique abilities, her position in society, or anything remarkable about her outside of being someone’s partner.’

Not one to take social media slings and arrows lying down, Abbie was quick to defend herself.

She boasted about her successes by mentioning her award-winning podcast, hosting TV shows, performing live tours for large audiences, and considering herself intelligent, gifted, and humorous.

‘What do you have to offer besides being a troll?’

Another cheeky commenter chimed in with a cutting: ‘Pay to watch what exactly? Just curious.’

Again Abbie responded to the not-so-subtle barb with some cold, hard facts.

‘Two hours of a stand-up comedy show,’ she replied. ‘Played it to about 15k people so far.’

It wasn’t all criticism though, with many fans jumping in to praise Abbie’s comedic stylings.

‘Babe, your Newy [Newcastle] show was literally one of the best nights of my life,’ one gushed.

‘If I was a billionaire I’d buy a seat to every show every time.’

Another added: ‘Abbie is my IDOL 100,000%.

In simpler terms, “This queen has been instrumental in keeping me out of trouble. I believe without her guidance, I might have made more foolish decisions in my life than I already have. Fortunately, I am privileged to receive her sage advice which I believe has significantly improved and even saved my life.

As a lifestyle expert, I find myself reflecting upon a recent incident where Abbie and her partner, Adam Hyde, found themselves in the midst of a heated discussion regarding the latest anti-immigration protests. Their impassioned words sparked quite a commotion within the online community, leading to a wave of criticism their way.

Following the confrontation between members of the National Socialist Network and demonstrators at Melbourne’s King’s Domain during Camp Sovereignty, Abbie disparaged everyone present, referring to them as “disappointing individuals.

Afterward, she invited Adam into the conversation, and said assertively, “For all those who refuse to heed an adult woman’s advice, labeling her ‘hysterical’, let me present a mature male figure who will engage with you.

Adam didn’t mince words during his outburst on Sunday, using strong language and stating bluntly that he wished for those attending the rallies to find peace.

The post received intense backlash on social media platforms, with numerous individuals expressing their disapproval towards the couple via X.
