Abbie Chatfield has now admitted that there was truth to an old gossip, as she confessed she previously received payment for revealing her location to the photographers.
In the most recent episode of her It’s A Lot podcast, the 30-year-old woman admitted that she received a thousand dollars by organizing a fake photograph session following her appearance on The Bachelor in 2019.
In simpler terms, after completing my studies on The Bachelor, I was romantically involved with Todd [King], who was the Bachelorette at that time. We arranged for photographers to capture our moments at the beach. This is how Abbie started her story.
‘Since we planned to go regardless, the $1,000 expense seemed manageable. We mused, “This should easily cover airfare from Perth”.’
Abbie shared that she organized the photo shoot with the help of a journalist, who served as a liaison and sent the location information to a photographer based in Queensland.
She revealed that someone, possibly a journalist, tipped off the paparazzi about our location. Once, in a financial bind because I was working a regular nine-to-five job and a thousand dollars seemed like a substantial amount to me.

She went on to say, “Since we were planning to head to the beach anyways, if your reason is earning money, then feel free to leave, my dear!
Photographs, posed back in October 2019 on the shores of Noosa Beach, depicted Abbie locked in a passionate kiss with her rumored boyfriend at the time, Todd King, while she was wearing a revealing two-piece swimsuit.
The media personality has long faced speculation about tipping off paparazzi.
Last year, Abbie denied allegations that she often shares her location with the paparazzi to get better photographs.
The influencer posted a bold video on TikTok, confessing that she’d tipped off the paparazzi about her location in the past, but emphasized that this wasn’t something she often did.
Abbie remarked with amusement, ‘It seems quite surprising how upset some people get when others choose to share their own photos with the media.’
It’s quite unusual to take action while going for a stroll. Who even cares about such trivial matters? I wouldn’t ever request photographers to capture images of me walking my pet dog!
Moreover, she stated her viewpoint that it’s acceptable for celebrities to inform press photographers about their location, as long as the earnings from the photos are shared mutually.

She stated that she doesn’t believe it’s wrong due to individuals having control over their own photographs. She explained that paparazzi are unsettling primarily because they don’t have the person’s consent.
Since there was a financial incentive, I didn’t hesitate. In fact, that’s why I did it with my then-boyfriend. However, unless there’s a substantial amount of money involved, I wouldn’t repeat the experience.
In 2024, Ben McDonald, the CEO of Matrix Media Group, shared with Daily Mail that numerous celebrities maintained professional ties with paparazzi to manage their public personas.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but boast about my unique connections! Over the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to foster professional bonds with an array of famous faces, from top-tier Hollywood actors to beloved reality TV personalities.
