Abbie Chatfield breaks down ‘crying in the street’ after being ‘abused’ by a 10-year-old boy while his mother watched on

Abbie Chatfield has called out a young boy for ‘verbally abusing’ her on the street.

Abbie, the 30-year-old from The Bachelor, shared that she started crying after a 10-year-old boy shouted an offensive phrase at her while she was recording a voice message for a friend.

In a video posted to Instagram, a woman described being sworn at by a young boy, around 10 years old, while she was out in public. She felt it was unacceptable behavior for a child of that age to use such language towards an adult.

I was sending a voice message to my friend, sharing that I was struggling with my mental health.

Ugh, I was really trying to have a peaceful morning, you know? Just desperately trying to block out all the negativity – the awful comments and just general hate I get bombarded with every single day. It’s exhausting, honestly. I just needed a break.

Abbie said a young boy walked by, unexpectedly yelled at her, and then kept walking with his mother.

While I was dealing with that, a young boy shouted an offensive phrase at me, specifically saying, “Fk you Abbie.” I expected his mother to either make him apologize or apologize herself, but neither of them did.

Abbie said the mother told her to “go away” and wouldn’t let her ask her son why he swore at her.

She called the incident deeply upsetting, and expressed concern that young boys are increasingly influenced by harmful ideas circulating online – specifically, what’s known as the ‘manosphere’.

Abbie believes it’s crucial to help children understand the consequences of their actions so they don’t repeat those behaviors.

Many of her fans rushed to the comments section to offer encouragement, but some others advised her to let it go and focus on the future.

‘That’s so disturbing, even more so that the mother enabled his behaviour,’ one person commented.

‘This is disgusting and revolting. Not to mention terrifying for society,’ another said.

‘Disgusting. I would he furious if my son said something like that,’ a third wrote.

I’ve seen some people call Abbie a hypocrite, and it really bothers me. They say she’s always pointing out flaws in others, and they don’t think that’s fair, even though I admire her for speaking up.

One person urged him to practice what he preached and avoid hypocrisy. Another commenter pointed out the age difference, suggesting he should simply let it go.

Someone else pointed out that you’re not a bad person, but you need to stop seeking attention this way and move past it.
