Aaron Taylor-Johnson addresses James Bond casting question
As a die-hard Bond fan with decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen it all – from Connery to Craig. The rumors swirling around Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the next 007 have certainly piqued my interest!
Aaron Taylor-Johnson has addressed a question regarding his rumoured casting as James Bond.
There’s chatter about the actor potentially taking over James Bond (007) from Daniel Craig, after a story broke in March hinting that he was given the opportunity for the part.
Later on, a source from within the production team refuted the allegations, informing BBC News that “the rumors were unfounded.
In an exclusive chat with ComicBook, Taylor-Johnson likened the part of Bond he might play to his upcoming project, Kraven the Hunter.
He suggested, “If Bond is truly your cup of tea and action-packed movies are what get your heart racing, then I strongly recommend you watch this film. The action here is mind-blowing and incredibly thrilling.
“So, yeah, honestly, I don’t think it would disappoint, brother,” Taylor-Johnson added.
In earlier discussions of 2024, the actor tactfully avoided addressing Bond-related gossip when questioned on the red carpet regarding his feelings about continuously being inquired about the role.
“You sick of asking the question?” he then replied to the Associated Press.
It seems that we’re yet to receive official word on whether Taylor-Johnson is taking over as James Bond, but it looks like we might have to wait a bit longer to find out who the next 007 will be.
On the other hand, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson have provided additional details about the qualifications. They’ve hinted that the upcoming Bond character might be a male around 30 years old, with no specific requirement for ethnicity.
The actor is also expected to devote at least a decade to the franchise.
