A$AP Rocky recently unveiled a fresh sneak peek for his much-anticipated album titled “DON’T BE DUMB.” The rapper graced the Cannes Film Festival, where he premiered his new movie, “Highest 2 Lowest” – a directorial project by Spike Lee featuring Denzel Washington.

At the red carpet event, accompanied by his long-time partner Rihanna, Rocky strolled along, and as they descended the stairs, a fragment of a fresh tune from his new album was played by the DJ. Later on, during an after-party, the same DJ spun an unheard track from Rocky’s forthcoming mixtape. Rocky reveled in his most significant film role yet at Cannes.

In an interview with Variety, Rocky admitted that he had long harbored a desire to act and had even tried out for other productions. He shared that he auditioned for Star Wars, aiming for the role of Lando, but his performance on that day was less than impressive. He went on to praise Donald Glover, saying that at the time, Glover would have done a better job as Lando than he could have. Rocky also expressed the opinion that Glover resembled Billy Dee Williams more than he does.

Highest 2 Lowest hits theaters on August 22. Rocky’s new album has yet to have a release date.
