A24's MaXXXine begins streaming on Max this October

As a seasoned horror enthusiast with a soft spot for Ti West’s chilling narratives, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming streaming release of “MaXXXine”! With the trilogy’s first two installments already under my belt and leaving an indelible mark on my horror-loving heart, I eagerly await the third chapter in this gripping saga.

horror enthusiasts, listen up! Exciting news has arrived. If by any chance you missed Ti West’s MaXXXine in theaters back in July, prepare yourself as it will soon be available to stream at home! That’s correct. The blockbuster movie is scheduled for release on Max this October, perfect timing for the chilling season!

Mark your calendars, fellow enthusiasts! On the exciting day of Friday, October 18th, 2024, MaXXXine will grace our screens via streaming platforms. The next day, on Saturday, October 19th, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time or 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, it’s off to HBO we go for the linear debut of this much-anticipated release!

The movie titled “MaXXXine” is a horror production directed and scripted by Ti West. This film marks the conclusion of West’s “X” trilogy, which includes “X” (2022) and “Pearl” (2022). Notably, it serves as a direct follow-up to “X”. The story unfolds in 1980s Los Angeles, focusing on Maxine Minx, the lone survivor of the farmhouse slaughter depicted in “X”. As Maxine endeavors to establish herself as a prominent actress in Hollywood, she encounters a mysterious assailant who targets her.

In this movie, Mia Goth takes on her character Maxine Minx again, and she’s joined by a talented ensemble that includes Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Lily Collins, Giancarlo Esposito, and Kevin Bacon.

Back in April and June, A24 released two trailers for MaXXXine. You can check them out below.

Just like I enjoy games akin to ‘X’ and ‘Pearl’, the upcoming movie ‘MaXXXine’ is also rated R. Given that it falls under the slasher genre, it’s not unexpected that it carries an adult rating. The Maturity classification was awarded due to its intense violence, gory scenes, explicit sexual content, graphic nudity, harsh language, and drug use. Clearly, such content isn’t suitable for younger viewers. Therefore, I suggest scheduling this film for viewing when the little ones aren’t around.

After enjoying the movie “MaXXXine”, you might be keen to watch the other two films in the trilogy. At the moment, the only way to see “X” is by either renting or buying it digitally. On the other hand, “Pearl” can be streamed on Netflix and Paramount+. You can also opt for digital rental or purchase of this movie.
