The crime series that BBC calls Sweden’s most watched, titled “Beck,” has seen a significant rise in popularity within the UK, climbing up the charts with its recently released two-part mystery.
Today, the TV show inspired by the Martin Beck detective novels written by Swedish authors Maj Sjöwall and Per Wahlöö has landed at number 7 on BBC’s list of most-watched programs.
The latest season of the well-known Swedish series was made available on August 9th via the streaming service, and features two extended episodes titled “Vilhelm” and “The Invisible Man”. This is actually the show’s tenth season, which initially premiered back in 1997.
In a report from The Guardian, the fresh two-episode tale is labeled as “gritty,” focusing on a group of investigators delving into a lethal heist. Yet, appearances can be deceiving in this case; there’s a depth to the mystery that goes beyond initial impressions.
The principal actors are Peter Haber, Jennie Silfverhjelm, and Valter Skarsgard, who is the son of renowned actor Stellan Skarsgard.
