Even if the rest of the movie feels a bit shallow, Ritchson’s performance feels surprisingly profound. He conveys his character’s inner struggles powerfully, often without saying much at all. Ritchson quickly connects with viewers and, in just a few scenes, reveals the deep personal meaning behind his mission.
With War Machine, Joe Manganiello continues to show he’s a force in action movies. But according to director Anthony Morales, Manganiello might surprise audiences with a dramatic or musical performance down the line.
