A Toys ‘R’ Us movie is genuinely happening

A movie based on retailer Toys ‘R’ Us is reportedly happening.

The movie in question will deviate from the biographical drama genre seen in films like “Blackberry,” “Tetris,” and “Air.” Instead, it’s expected to be a fictional tale, similar to movies such as “Barbie,” “Jumanji,” “Night at the Museum,” and “Back to the Future.

Toys ‘R’ Us Entertainment Division, Toys ‘R’ Us Studios, is collaborating on a project with Story Kitchen, a company recognized for creating bundles of scripts based on video games and subsequently selling these to production studios.

Dmitri M Johnson and Mike Goldberg, the creators of Story Kitchen, were reported as stating: “Toy ‘R’ Us remains a significant cultural symbol, influencing the child within each one of us still.

For us, who grew up in the ’80s and regarded Toys ‘R’ Us as a magical haven, it’s an honor to collaborate on a movie that aims to embody the essence of excitement, imagination, and fond memories associated with Toys ‘R’ Us.

In Kim Miller Olko’s words, as the initial movie venture for Toys ‘R’ Us, this project offers a thrilling chance to transport our brand’s enchantment onto the silver screen. It seems that Toys ‘R’ Us Studios may have further film projects in mind.

This tale promises to be as endless and exciting as playing itself, mirroring the thrilling awe that embodies Toys ‘R’ Us. It will stir your creativity, spark exploration, and fill you with the joy that has made Toys ‘R’ Us a playground for children of every age.

In 2017, Toys ‘R’ Us declared bankruptcy and subsequently shut down most of its UK and U.S. branches. However, it has seen a resurgence in more recent times by opening smaller stores or assuming control over sections within WHSmith and Macy’s outlets.

Currently, Story Kitchen has cast Sydney Sweeney for a movie adaptation of the newly released game, “Split Fiction.” Additionally, they are developing television or film versions of games such as “Streets of Rage,” “Just Cause,” “Toejam & Earl,” “Sifu,” and “It Takes Two.

Previously, they’ve enjoyed triumphs with the “Sonic the Hedgehog” films and the “Tomb Raider” animated series on Netflix.
