Ella Bruccoleri, known for her role in Call the Midwife, stars in The Other Bennet Sister, a period drama that’s quickly become popular on BBC iPlayer. The series tells the story of Mary Bennet, one of the less-noticed sisters from Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.
Since it became available on iPlayer, The Other Bennet Sister has quickly become one of the platform’s most popular shows, currently holding the number two spot.
The first half of the series—five episodes—became available on BBC iPlayer on March 15th, and the remaining five episodes will be released on March 29th.

Mary Bennet often feels ignored by her family and desperately wants their acceptance. When a local assembly is held in Meryton, she sees it as a chance to finally stand out and experiences her first hints of romantic interest.
Mary’s actions at the ball cause quite a stir, and she’s forced to choose between following her family’s expectations and pursuing what she truly wants.
