A “tension-filled” British thriller that ‘gets under your skin’ lands new UK streaming home

An acclaimed British thriller from this year has finally joined a streaming subscription service.

In the film titled and helmed by Jed Hart, named “Restless“, we follow the character of Nicky (Lyndsey Marshal), as she navigates through the aftermath of her neighbors-turned-parents’ demise.

Not long after that, some new neighbors who seem to love hosting late-night parties with an abundance of drugs and have an unbearably irritating dog, decide to settle into the property next door, causing her many sleepless nights due to their activities.

Tired of restless nights, Nicky decides to regain peace in her life, yet events spiral beyond her control.

Following its digital release for purchase and rental, the movie “Restless” is now accessible to stream through either a NOW or Sky Cinema subscription. This also implies that it is being broadcast on the Sky Premiere channel.

The movie stars Aston McAuley and Barry Ward in key secondary parts. Critics widely praised it, with a remarkable 94% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 35 reviews.

On Kermode and Mayo’s Take, Mark Kermode expressed his discomfort with a particular scenario in a movie, stating that it was particularly stress-inducing. In this case, he was referring to the first half of the film where Nicky is consistently subjected to mockery.

In a gripping and intense manner, the film Restless, as reviewed by The Hollywood News, plunges viewers headfirst into one of life’s most harrowing nightmares.

The RadioTimes found that, despite some parts of the story feeling a bit unrealistic, it was kept engaging by Marshal’s charming portrayal and Hart’s knack for capturing frustrating elements. Screen Rant agreed, praising Marshal for delivering an incredibly fitting performance.

The Galveston Daily News described it as a “tense, suspenseful movie about noise complaints that skillfully avoid plot inconsistencies through clever sound design and direction.” Meanwhile, the San Jose Mercury News commended Hart for his “innovative approaches” in his work.

Restless is airing on Sky Premiere, and can be streamed with a Sky/NOW Cinema subscription.

The latest print issue from Digital Spy, featuring the concert “Oasis – Live in ’25,” is now available! Pick it up at your local newsstand or purchase it online for only £8.99.
