A Quiet Place Part 3 Gets Exciting Writing Update From Emily Blunt

It’s been five years since the last A Quiet Place movie came out, and while fans enjoyed A Quiet Place: Day One last year, they’re eager for news about A Quiet Place Part III, which will again star Emily Blunt as Evelyn Abbott.

Emily Blunt shared an update on the next A Quiet Place movie in a recent video. She said John Krasinski is deeply focused on writing the script, and hasn’t revealed much about the story yet, which makes her even more excited about what’s to come.

Some fans might be upset that the movie isn’t further in development, and their concerns are understandable. A Quiet Place Part III was initially scheduled for release in 2025, but that plan has changed.

Last year, A Quiet Place: Day One came out, showing viewers how the world ended up the way it was in the first A Quiet Place movie. However, the filmmakers originally intended that film to be a standalone story, as producer Brad Fuller has stated.

Just to clarify, Day One isn’t the same as A Quiet Place 3. We’re currently working on developing A Quiet Place 3,” said Fuller at SXSW earlier this year. He then explained the reason for the delay between the release of A Quiet Place Part II and the upcoming A Quiet Place Part III.

You know, when John Krasinski and I first made A Quiet Place, he was really eager to direct after finishing The Office. But now, he’s incredibly busy and in high demand! He’s currently working on another movie, but we’re all hoping he’ll be able to focus on A Quiet Place Part III as soon as he’s done. We definitely want to wrap up the trilogy, and honestly, I’m even hoping we can make more Quiet Place films after that!

A Quiet Place Part III Is Still on the Way

I loved A Quiet Place – it was so clever! And it’s awesome that John Krasinski not only starred alongside his wife, Emily Blunt, in the first one, but he also wrote and directed the sequel. Now, he’s doing the whole shebang – writing, directing, and producing – for A Quiet Place Part III. Emily mentioned he’s really deep in the thick of it, working hard on it right now, which is super exciting!

Emily Blunt is likely to reprise her role in the next A Quiet Place movie, but the cast hasn’t been confirmed yet. We also don’t know what the story will be or how much time has passed since the last film.

Both John Krasinski and Emily Blunt have suggested they envisioned A Quiet Place as a three-movie series. Krasinski has mentioned that he intentionally included elements in the second film to prepare for a potential third movie.

While we were filming the first A Quiet Place, I kept wondering what was happening beyond those signal fires. It really got me thinking! Then it hit me – those fires would be key to how the family survives in Part II, like a safe route if their farm was destroyed. I quickly learned to jot down any ideas I had, just in case we ever made a third movie. We even snuck in a few little clues, Easter eggs really, so that if we did continue the story, those ideas could connect back to the second film.
