spectators have the opportunity to challenge their sports trivia skills directly from their seats, going head-to-head with Matt, Phil, and their respective teams.

Sue is excited about reconnecting with Matt and Phil. We enjoy trivia games, and we always have a great time laughing together. I can’t wait!

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’m thrilled to embark on this tour alongside Sue and Tuffers, rekindling relationships with some of the most beloved sports personalities from our past.

Phil expressed his excitement: “I’m eagerly counting down the days until I hit the road again with the fantastic trio consisting of Sue, Matt, and myself! Take care of Matt and me, as well as all our wonderful guests, Sue.

The threesome will begin their tour at the Brighton Centre on March 1, followed by stops in London, Bath, Leicester, Bournemouth, Ipswich, Basingstoke, Torquay, Oxford, Manchester, and Nottingham.

Following its cancellation, Sue expressed deep disappointment for upcoming athletes missing out on A Question of Sport. She implored the BBC to reconsider and resurrect the show, confessing that she was tempted to come back as a host.

She declared that hosting the program was the most enjoyable experience she’s ever had on television, and it was a unique chance for athletes to display their individual personalities.

During an episode of the Monday Mile podcast, Sue shared her thoughts: “That performance was absolutely exceptional… I truly feel let down for the upcoming group of athletes who won’t get to savor that same experience.

When asked if she’d come back to host the show if it was brought back, she responded: “I’d certainly consider it. I’d think about returning to [A] Question of Sport, I’d think about going back to Wimbledon, but deep down, I know the wise choice is to say no.

The staff and hosts of Question of Sport were deeply disappointed when the BBC suddenly decided to cancel the long-standing show in December.

In a surprising move, the Corporation attributed the cancellation of its long-running sports quiz show, which had run for over 1,300 episodes, to rising inflation and decreasing ratings.

Production has been paused following the termination of longtime host Sue, a move that has ignited anger among the show’s audience.

The show made its initial appearance on TV screens in 1970, with David Vine, a previous Match of the Day presenter, as the original host. However, it is most famously associated with Barker, who helmed the program for an impressive 24-year stretch.

1997 saw the addition of a Wimbledon semi-finalist to our program, who swiftly rose to prominence as the show’s main representative.

2020 saw an unexpected turn of events where she was dismissed. This action, as the host confessed, left her with a sense of being somewhat bruised.

‘Naively, I’d expected more after 24 years,’ she wrote in the Daily Mail following the fallout.

She clarified, “I want to make it clear that I didn’t mind being replaced. After all, everyone’s turn comes eventually. It’s only natural for producers to revitalize a show by giving it a fresh start.

She added: ‘It was the way it was handled. It taught me there is actually no way of leaving a role in a nice, pleasant and helpful manner, with your head held high.’

Originally famous tennis player had to leave the show alongside captains Matt and Phil. This allowed new, promising talents to be brought in by managers, aiming to modernize and refresh the established sports trivia competition.

2021 saw Paddy McGuinness take over from Barker’s position, while Olympic athlete Sam Quek and former rugby player Ugo Monye stepped in as new team captains, replacing Dawson and Tufnell respectively.

According to a representative from BBC, as a result of inflation and financial difficulties, some tough choices need to be made. Consequently, The Question of Sport is temporarily off the air for now.
