A Pokémon LEGO set is releasing in 2026: Here are the details
Pokémon just announced its first LEGO set. Here are the details.
Yes, you read that title correctly. Pokémon is releasing a LEGO set in 2026, which has excited fans immensely. While we do know very little, this leaves a blank page open for a plethora of possibilities involving the collaboration.
Here is what we know at the moment about the Pokémon x LEGO collaboration.
Pokémon x LEGO: What will the set consist of?
At the moment, very little is known about what the Pokémon LEGO set will consist of, or whether or not there will be multiple different sets.
Earlier today (March 18, 2025), Pokémon shared a cryptic announcement teaser on Twitter, which only revealed the LEGO logo and a miniature LEGO model of Pikachu’s tail emitting sparks.
So, does this mean the set will revolve around Pikachu? More than likely. However, this does not mean that the set will only consist of Pikachu. LEGO is notorious for including quite a bit in their sets, meaning we could easily see other Pokémon involved or maybe even Ash Ketchum.
This also does not mean that a Pikachu set is the only set that could be included.
Other possible Pokémon LEGO sets
If Pikachu is receiving a unique collection of its own, it’s quite logical to speculate that other Pokémon could also be getting their own sets. There could potentially be as many as 1,025 different sets if we consider the total number of Pokémon (which is 1,025).
It’s quite probable that if additional Pokémon are added to the collection, we’ll find the initial three starters: Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur among them.
I can already imagine everyone trying to collect all the starters, including Pikachu.
Would this be the only Pokémon LEGO set that ever releases? Probably not, as a franchise as big as Pokémon would surely sell millions of units, especially with it being the official LEGO brand. It’s only assumed that this will be the start of a very big collaboration.
Release date
There is no official release date for the Pokémon LEGO set, but we do know that it will come to stores in 2026. This will definitely be huge amongst both Pokémon and LEGO fans, meaning sets could sell out fast. If you are interested in one, you better be ready to order the second they drop.
Could a LEGO Pokémon game be in our future?
LEGO is notorious for turning different popular sets into video games. We have LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Harry Potter and more that have gotten their own video games.
Indeed, there’s growing curiosity among fans about the possibility of a LEGO Pokémon game being developed, given the popularity of both franchises.
Would you like to see a brand-new style of Pokémon game released, that is all LEGO characters? Or would you like to see your favorite original Pokémon game get a LEGO remake?
Recent LEGO sets announced
It’s not just Pokémon that has received a new LEGO set announcement; other well-known franchises have also had new announcements recently, keeping LEGO fresh and exciting as ever.
For Halloween last year, LEGO released a brand-new Nightmare Before Christmas LEGO set, that featured Jack Skellington and many other beloved characters from the Tim Burton classic.
LEGO also has a huge collaboration coming sometime in 2025 with Nike, which will feature sets dedicated to Football, Basketball and many other sports that Nike helps sponsor.
From Star Wars to Transformers to Lord of the Rings, LEGO is constantly giving fans unique products that feature some of their favorite characters from different TV shows, video games and movies, making the company as popular as ever.
