Laura Hamilton, known for her role on ‘A Place in the Sun,’ says she doesn’t regret the time she spent away from her children filming the popular Channel 4 show, even though she’s received negative comments online about it.
Oh my gosh, I just *love* seeing her thrive! It’s amazing how she does it all! She’s 43, a mom to Rocco and Tahlia – they’re 11 and 10, aren’t they? – and even after everything with Alex, she still follows her dreams! She says it’s totally crazy trying to balance work with being a mom and all the travel, but she’d *never* give up her career, and honestly, that’s so inspiring to me! It’s just… incredible to watch her shine.
Laura told The Sun she admires mothers who dedicate themselves full-time to raising their children, but it’s not a path she could personally take. She enjoys both her career and being a mom and has successfully balanced the two.
The presenter shares parenting responsibilities with her ex and schedules her work around when her children are with their father, allowing her to dedicate her full attention to filming during that time.
She felt very fortunate that her job allowed her to travel with her children when she could, appreciating the flexibility it offered.
Laura has also faced online harassment, with some people accusing her of not spending enough time with her children because she films projects in other countries.
She dismissed the criticism, insisting social media never shows the full story.
She explained that people often form opinions based on what they see on social media. She addressed the criticism that she appears to be frequently absent and not spending time with her children, clarifying that her posts aren’t always current and simply because she doesn’t share every moment with her kids doesn’t mean she isn’t present with them.
The television personality, who began working on A Place in the Sun in 2012, wants to show her daughter that it’s possible to have both a fulfilling family life and a thriving career.
She explained she wants Tahlia to know she can build a successful career and also have a family if that’s what she wants.
Laura began her journey with Channel 4 thirteen years ago, building on her experience working on popular shows like Top of the Pops and Big Brother, where she started out working behind the scenes.
She’s still well-known as part of the show, and says she’s proud to have been involved for its 25th anniversary this year.
Unfortunately it’s not the first time that Laura has had to suffer with online cruelty.

Laura looked fantastic in a blue and white swimsuit as she relaxed by the pool in a video montage.
She lounged on a day bed with her daughter as they waved while the camera panned out.
Laura responded to the comment with a thoughtful and slightly critical question, writing: ‘Who gets to decide when someone is ‘too old’ to do something?’
I recently saw a comment criticizing my choice to wear a bikini because of my age, and it actually gave me pause.
‘But then I reminded myself, life’s way too short to worry about what other people think.
I decided to wear a swimsuit today simply because I wanted to and it makes me feel good – it wasn’t about anything anyone else said!
Everyone feels a little insecure sometimes, but we all deserve to have fun and enjoy things like sunny days, the beach, or swimming, regardless of our age or what we’re wearing! Don’t let anything hold you back from doing what makes you happy.
