A fresh and exciting chapter is about to begin, and many fans believe it could be the best installment since the very first series aired.
I’m so excited! Dynamite Entertainment just announced a brand new *Ben 10* comic series, and it sounds amazing. Joe Casey, one of the original creators, is writing it, and Robert Carey, who’s done great work on *Outsiders* and *Jennifer Blood*, is handling the art. Apparently, this series is going to be packed with action, and they’re actually giving Ben a fresh start with a new origin story. It sounds like they’re really streamlining everything, refining the whole *Ben 10* universe to make it the best it can be – kind of like what Marvel and DC do with their characters. As a long-time fan, I can’t wait to see what they come up with!
Writer and co-creator Joe Casey shared that *Ben 10* holds a special place in their hearts after 20 years. They’re excited to finally share a version of Ben and his story exactly as they’ve always envisioned it—a full-fledged superhero comic aiming to compete with the biggest titles in the genre. Calling it *Ultimate* or *Absolute Ben 10*, Casey confidently states that this is the best *Ben 10* has ever been.
Created by Man of Action for Cartoon Network, *Ben 10* quickly became a popular animated sci-fi superhero show. The series centers on young Ben Tennyson, whose summer road trip with his cousin Gwen and grandfather Max takes an unexpected turn when he finds the Omnitrix. This special device allows Ben to temporarily transform into different aliens, each with unique powers. As the story progresses, it becomes clear that others are also interested in the Omnitrix and have their own plans for using it.
The first *Ben 10* series lasted four seasons and 49 episodes before becoming *Ben 10: Alien Force* in 2008. *Alien Force* continued the story for three more seasons and 46 episodes, also laying the groundwork for future series.
After *Alien Force* in 2012, more episodes—52 and 80 respectively—continued the *Ben 10* story. In 2016, the series was reimagined with a new animated *Ben 10*, but it didn’t measure up to previous installments and received mostly negative reviews from critics and viewers. Throughout its run, there have also been three animated movies and two live-action films, with varying levels of success.
