A mother feeds herself to a flesh-eating fiend in trailer for Shudder’s Little Bites
As a seasoned gamer and horror movie enthusiast who has faced countless virtual monsters and survived many digital nightmares, I must admit that the trailer for Little Bites has left me both intrigued and a tad uneasy. The combination of real-life horror icons like Barbara Crampton and Heather Langenkamp with the unique premise of a flesh-eating monster in a struggling widow’s home is certainly an enticing mix.
What lengths would you take to safeguard your child? This question lies at the core of the forthcoming movie titled “Little Bites, directed by Spider One. In his director’s note, Spider explains that this film is a raw exploration of parenthood, where the main monster, a carnivorous creature named Aygar, serves as a metaphor for his personal experiences with being a parent.
Up there you’ll find the complete trailer for “Little Bites,” a chilling tale about Mindy (Krys Fox), a widow facing hardships who’s trying to keep her daughter Alice (Elizabeth Caro) safe from Aygar, a frightening creature believed to reside in their home’s lower levels, most likely the basement.
I yearn for Alice, but Mindy remains resilient in her stand, choosing instead to sacrifice herself by feeding the beast ravenously. Yet, as its appetite expands, she finds it increasingly challenging to keep the monster satiated. In desperation, she starts seeking other victims, enticing them into her home where they fall prey to Aygar’s relentless hunger.
Fans of horror will delight in recognizing familiar faces from the genre, such as Barbara Crampton portraying Sonya Whitfield and Heather Langenkamp as Ellenor. Notably, Bonnie Aarons, known for her role as Valak in the The Conjuring series, appears as a secretive character called “Mother.
As a gamer, it’s pretty cool to know that I’m diving into a game produced by none other than Cher herself! Her son, Chaz Bono, also makes an appearance in the movie as Paul. You can catch a sneak peek of them, along with Langenkamp, in the trailer, and some exclusive photos from the film have been released below.
If you’re excited about watching “Little Bites” on Shudder, you’ll need to be patient as a release date hasn’t been set just yet. However, good news for fans! The movie has been officially selected for Fantastic Fest 2024 and is scheduled for theater release on October 4. Additionally, it will also be available for rental on VOD on the same day.
