A look back at happier times as Brooklyn Beckham and wife Nicola Peltz snub Victoria’s Paris Fashion Week show after smiling on the front row last year

On Friday, Victoria Beckham’s Paris Fashion Week show began with her family proudly watching from the front row, alongside a crowd of famous guests.

Watching with pride, David saw his 14-year-old daughter Harper photograph her mother’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection. Meanwhile, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Romeo’s girlfriend, Jackie Apostel, 30, applauded.

However, the family gathering was once again missed by the eldest son, Brooklyn, 26, and his wife, Nicola Peltz, 31. They were absent and reportedly no longer on speaking terms with his parents and siblings.

However, things looked very different last year when the couple was photographed smiling from the front row in Paris. They were seated next to Cruz, his partner Jackie, and Victoria’s close friend, Eva Longoria.

In 2024, the entire Beckham family attended the event. Brooklyn and Nicola coordinated their outfits for the show, but they traveled from their hotel separately to show their support for Victoria.

While that was happening, David took a photo with Romeo, Cruz, and Harper. He playfully mentioned it was “a little challenging” to get the picture, explaining that they all had to give their approval before he could share it.

The last time Brooklyn and his family were seen together was on Boxing Day last year. Since then, there’s been no indication he’s visited them in the UK.

The situation escalated as Brooklyn seemed to overlook his brother Romeo’s 23rd birthday, marking another instance of a perceived slight – he opted to share updates about his life in Los Angeles with Nicola instead.

He also failed to attend any of his father David’s 50th birthday celebrations in May. 

He renewed his wedding vows with Nicola in Westchester County, New York on August 2. His family – including his brothers, Romeo and Cruz, and his sister, Harper – weren’t there to see it.

David Beckham’s absence from Brooklyn and Nicola’s vow renewal strongly suggests they’re distancing themselves from his family. There’s growing evidence that Brooklyn intends to separate himself from the “Brand Beckham” for good.

Reports suggested that the Beckhams were unhappy with the Peltzes during Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding in 2022, believing the Peltzes were dominating the event.

The two families have not reunited since and Nicola has rarely been pictured with the Beckhams. 

Daily Mail contacted Brooklyn, Nicola and the Beckhams’ representatives for comment at the time.

Just recently, David went to the Bowers & Wilkins event in London to celebrate the release of their Px8 S2 headphones, and he shared some details about his family while there.

He was joined on stage by record producer James Blake, and they discussed their work together on the product and its significance to both of them.

Speaking about travel, the retired footballer shared his feelings about being away from his family, stating that they ‘mean a lot to him’.

He shared with the Daily Mail and other news outlets: ‘I have a strong bond with my family, and they’ve become accustomed to my frequent travels over time.‘

‘You know, the boys obviously have been around, you know, most of my career, so, you know.

My family – they’ve watched me travel extensively, and later, Victoria and Harper did too. Now, with all the traveling I do, it’s tough, and of course, I really miss my dogs. They’re truly part of the family, and that’s what I think about most when I’m away.

Last week, the Daily Mail interviewed Brooklyn and asked him how he handles the constant discussion surrounding his family and personal life.

He acknowledged that there will always be critics, but emphasized his gratitude for his very supportive wife. ‘My wife and I focus on what we do, stay dedicated to our work, and we’re happy,’ he explained.

Brooklyn said he ‘never’ worries about what people say or write about his personal life.

‘Everyone is always going to say rubbish. I just try and do this, play some golf with some friends. It’s good fun,’ he said.
