A look at Kiefer Sutherland’s decades of legal woes following arrest after alleged skirmish with rideshare driver

Kiefer Sutherland was arrested this morning, continuing a pattern of legal troubles that have followed him for many years.

On Monday morning in Hollywood, Los Angeles, the 59-year-old actor was arrested after an argument with a rideshare driver near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue, according to the Daily Mail.

Okay, so here’s the deal: the Emmy-winning actor was arrested after allegedly getting into a physical altercation with a driver and then entering their car without permission. Police are investigating this as a potentially serious crime involving threats, and that’s why it’s being treated as a felony. It’s a really unfortunate situation, and we’ll have to see how it unfolds.

Carlos Kiefer, known for his roles in shows like 24 and Designated Survivor, was released on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on February 2nd.

Daily Mail has reached out to reps for Sutherland for further comment on the story.

This recent arrest is just the latest in a series of legal troubles for the actor, who is known for starring in films like A Few Good Men, The Lost Boys, and Stand by Me. He’s been dealing with issues like this for over forty years.

After his latest arrest, the Daily Mail is reporting on actor Kiefer Sutherland’s history of legal troubles.

In January 2008, Sutherland was released from jail after serving 48 days for a DUI conviction.

When he was released from jail after almost two months, Los Angeles police Officer John Balian told People magazine that the actor ‘seemed happy to be free’.

While in jail, Sutherland was assigned to laundry duty, where he washed sheets, pillowcases, and blankets, according to the police officer.

Sutherland was a model prisoner during his time at the facility, Balian said.

‘He was very humble, never complained,’ the officer said. ‘He didn’t give us any problems at all.’

In October 2007, Sutherland pleaded no contest to driving under the influence in a September 2007 incident. As a result, he was sentenced to 30 days in jail.

After Sutherland violated his probation stemming from a 2004 drunk driving arrest, the court extended his sentence by 18 days.

After reaching a plea agreement, Sutherland stated he was truly sorry for his mistakes.

Sutherland expressed strong regret over his actions, admitting he made a bad decision in the situation.

Kiefer Sutherland expressed his sincere apologies for the upset and hardship this situation has caused his family, friends, and colleagues at both the show ’24’ and 20th Century Fox.

He expressed his gratitude for the personal and professional support he’s received over the past few weeks.

Sutherland completed his jail time at the Glendale City Jail instead of the downtown Los Angeles facility, understanding that this arrangement meant he wouldn’t be released early.

As part of a court agreement, Sutherland was placed on probation for five years. He was also required to complete an 18-month alcohol education program and attend weekly therapy sessions for six months.

Kiefer Sutherland, son of the late actor Donald Sutherland, has been arrested multiple times, with records dating back to the 1980s.

According to the Los Angeles Times and court documents, the actor, who was born in England and grew up in Canada, was arrested in Los Angeles in 1989 for reckless driving under the influence of alcohol and carrying a loaded gun.

Sutherland entered a no-contest plea for reckless driving involving alcohol, and the prosecutor dismissed the charge related to the weapon.

In 1993, Sutherland was arrested once more for driving recklessly while under the influence of alcohol, and he chose to not contest the charges.

He was sentenced to 200 hours of community service in connection with the offense.

After nearly ten years without any legal issues, Sutherland was arrested in 2004 for driving under the influence.

He accepted a court-supervised treatment program and a five-year probation period, which was connected to an arrest in 2007.

The actor spoke about his incarceration while appearing on Late Night With David Letterman in 2008.

Have you ever seen a holiday brochure and then arrived at the destination only to find it wasn’t quite what you expected? Well, prison isn’t like that at all. It’s exactly as you’d imagine it to be.
