The question of what happened to Captain America’s shield after *Avengers: Endgame* has finally been answered. Marvel recently released a new book, *Thunderbolts: The Art of the Movie*, which explains the details six years after the film’s initial release (according to Comicbook.com).
As many fans know, Captain America’s (Chris Evans) first shield was broken by Thanos (Josh Brolin) during the battle for Earth in *Avengers: Endgame*.
When Steve Rogers, now older, passed on the Captain America shield to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), he gave him a special version featuring his own logo.

A new Marvel art book reveals that Captain America’s original shield was originally intended to appear in the *Thunderbolts* series. The plan, which didn’t happen, involved Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) showcasing the shield at The Watchtower.
The original plan for the story didn’t happen, but it was meant to show just how powerful and far-reaching Valentina’s control was. Instead, *Thunderbolts* went in a different direction. They portrayed the CIA Director as a rich and heartless businessperson who owns a lot of items from the Avengers, especially things from the Battle of New York – not just Captain America’s shield, but many other artifacts.

Surprisingly, by the end of *Thunderbolts*, Valentina was in a difficult spot. She had been compelled to reveal Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) and her team as the new Avengers.
We don’t know what the future holds for the character, or if her impressive collection of Avengers items will appear again, but many fans believe Julia Louis-Dreyfus will reprise her role as Valentina in *Avengers: Doomsday*.
Although it’s not official, the actress hinted during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live that she might be involved.

When Jimmy Kimmel asked Julia Louis-Dreyfus about her involvement in a project, she initially said she couldn’t answer. But later, after Kimmel brought up her meeting with TikTok personality The Rizzler, she seemed to accidentally reveal something.
During an interview, Kimmel jokingly asked Julia Louis-Dreyfus if she might appear with ‘The Rizzler’ again while promoting *Avengers: Doomsday*. She initially responded with a playful ‘I suppose so!’ but then walked back her answer.
