The song in House of the Dragon accompanies a stone carving where blood seems to flow between Targaryen emblems, symbolizing the family’s lineage. This intro strongly connects to the show’s themes. But in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, things are different.

The new series skips the traditional opening intro. Instead, the title, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” appears briefly in old-fashioned lettering and then fades away. This simple opening reflects how different this show is from previous installments.

Ira Parker, who wrote for House of the Dragon and co-created A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, explained the show’s straightforward title sequence. He said all choices were made to reflect the main character, Dunk, and his personality (according to EW).

You know, I was just thinking about those opening title sequences for Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon – they’re huge, really impressive, and that score by Ramin Djawadi is just gorgeous. But that’s not really the vibe of the character we’re dealing with here. Dunk isn’t about big displays or extravagance. In fact, he’s surprisingly shy for a guy his size.
