The chilling psychological thriller that keeps parents awake at night, often referred to as their greatest fear, has now officially set its release date.

The five-act psychological thriller titled “The Kidnapped Girl” is scheduled for global release on Disney+ starting from April 16th.

In the United States, Freeform TV network plans to air new episodes every week at 10 PM Eastern Time. Each episode will be accessible for streaming the following day on Hulu.

This series boasts an impressive lineup of well-known actors, such as Denise Gough from “Andor,” Holliday Grainger from “Strike,” Ambika Mod from “One Day,” Jim Sturgess from “Cloud Atlas,” Bronagh Waugh from “The Suspect,” and Michael Workéyè from “My Lady Jane.

The film ‘The Stolen Child’ is based on the highly successful book ‘Playdate’ written by Alex Dahl, which has been transformed for the screen by Catherine Moulton of ‘Baptiste’, and is under the direction of Eva Husson.

The plot revolves around Elisa, a mother of two young children, whose world is flipped when an ordinary decision sets off a chain of tense events in this gripping thriller. Her nine-year-old daughter Lucia requests an overnight playdate with her new friend Josie, and Elisa consents, unaware of the turmoil that this simple agreement would ignite.

After chatting with Josie’s mom, Rebecca, I found myself instantly charmed by her and impressed by their lovely home. However, as I bid Josie goodnight, little did I know that I was stepping into the terrifying scenario that every parent dreads.

The following day, upon visiting to collect Lucia, Elisa finds out that the stunning residence was merely a vacation rental. Lucia is absent without trace. Both Rebecca and Josie are nowhere to be found. A simple sleepover for her daughter had unexpectedly morphed into an abduction scenario.

The investigation intensifies as it sweeps across Europe, causing Elisa and her spouse Fred to draw unwanted attention from authorities and the public. Under this mounting stress, cracks begin to show in Elisa’s seemingly flawless family life, and hidden truths surface.

Rebecca abducted Lucia with a purpose. As the audience delves deeper into the complex lives of these women, the query of whether Rebecca’s actions were justified, or if she would be safer remaining concealed, becomes increasingly relevant.
