A forgotten David Morrissey vampire movie has just been added to Netflix
A forgotten David Morrissey vampire movie has just been added to Netflix UK and Ireland.
The film titled “Dampyr” is an Italian supernatural action-horror production, although it’s in English, that draws inspiration from the comic book series created by Mauro Boselli and Maurizio Colombo with the same title.
The narrative unfolds around a man named Harlan Draka, who journeys through the Balkan countryside, stumbling upon a village besieged by vampires. It isn’t long before he realizes his unique identity as a dampyr – the offspring of a human and a vampire – endowed with extraordinary abilities.
But with the army of dead set to attack, he hasn’t got long to try and master them.
The movie was quietly premiered in both 2022 and 2023. As of now, there are no critic reviews for it on Rotten Tomatoes, and the trailer on the official Sony Pictures Entertainment YouTube page has garnered approximately 590,000 views.
In the more contemporary period, Morrissey, known for his role in “The Walking Dead,” has been featured in the BBC comedy titled “Daddy Issues.” This series also stars Aimee Lou Wood, who appeared in “Sex Education” and “The White Lotus” season three. The pair portray a struggling father-daughter duo that must lean on each other during challenging times.
Last summer, the series began airing in August, and just a few weeks later, it was announced that it would return for a second season. Filming for the six-episode second season has already commenced.
Morrissey expressed his joy about continuing the show Daddy Issues, stating that collaborating with Aimee and working on Danielle [Ward]’s witty and touching scripts was a dream come true. He can hardly wait!
The supernatural series, “Dampyr,” can now be streamed in the United Kingdom and Ireland on Netflix. Previously, it was accessible on Netflix USA.
