A First Look at the Victor Victor x Nike Air Max DN8 “NYC” and “Tokyo”

Nike is set to drop its next big collaboration with the Air Max DN8, this time with Victor Victor.

The Nike Air Max DN8 is set to team up with music producer Steven Victor, in partnership with his record label, Victor Victor Worldwide. This label represents artists like Ski Mask the Slump God, NIGO, the late Pop Smoke, and several others. In collaboration with Nike’s advanced sneaker technology, the label has designed two unique colorways for this latest model. Given Steven’s love for cars, these colorways draw inspiration from automotive culture and incorporate motorsport elements throughout the color schemes and design of the DN8 shoe.

The “NYC” version primarily showcases a sleek all-black upper, accentuated by a variety of colors reminiscent of automotive airfoil designs. These colors symbolize how air flows around certain car parts and their impact on them. Notably, the design extends to the bottom sole with a multicolor dot pattern similar to a rainbow. The midsole sports darkened Air Max bubbles. Complementing this, vibrant laces and an exclusive Victor Victor helmet keytag are additional features of this NYC edition.

A different “Tokyo” style pairs nicely with NYC, featuring a contrasting silver color palette. The upper part is highlighted by a metallic shine, and it’s held together at the heel with chrome and carbon fiber details, which hint subtly at automotive materials. Frosty “VICTOR” soles add a cool touch, referencing Steven Victor, while discreet Victor Victor branding can be found on the insole and manufacturer’s size tag.

As a die-hard sneakerhead, I’m super hyped because two fresh kicks are about to drop this late summer! First up, I’ll be rocking the NYC colorway on September 13. Then, just two days later, I can’t wait to grab the Tokyo pair on the 15th. Can’t wait for these drops!

Afterwards, there will be a special, one-time event for Hypedrive’s Cars & Kicks called “NYC Preview”. At this exclusive gathering, a pre-launch of the collaborative sneaker between Victor Victor and Nike Air Max DN8 will occur. The lucky attendees will have the opportunity to buy this limited edition shoe before its general release. This unique event is happening in Brooklyn, New York on September 6, but only for a select group of customers.
