A “dramatic” thriller with Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey lands UK streaming release date

The thriller Memory of a Killer, featuring Patrick Dempsey and Michael Imperioli, will be released in the UK. With its interesting story and talented actors, it could become a popular film in 2026.

The show is inspired by Jef Geeraerts’s novel, The Alzheimer Case, and stars Patrick Dempsey (known from Grey’s Anatomy) as Angelo, a New Yorker leading a risky double life.

Angelo Flannery leads a double life. By day, he’s a quiet photocopier salesman, but by night, he transforms into Angelo Doyle, a dangerous hitman operating in New York City. Adding to his complicated life, he’s also starting to experience troubling memory problems.

The new thriller series, created by Ed Whitmore and Tracey Malone, launched in the US on Fox last month (January 25th). Now, viewers in the UK can watch it too – it arrives on Prime Video this Thursday, February 5th.

The first two episodes will be available immediately, and then one new episode will be released each week for the following eight weeks. Prime Video is included with an Amazon Prime membership, which costs £8.99 a month after a 30-day free trial.

Michael Imperioli, known for his roles in shows like The Sopranos and The White Lotus, plays Dutch Forlanni, a friend of Angelo. Though Dutch seems friendly and easygoing, he secretly leads a dangerous criminal enterprise, operating it out of his restaurant and providing Angelo with people to target.

Okay, so things are getting really intense in this game. I just found out my character, Angelo, is starting to suspect his wife’s death wasn’t just a tragic accident. Then, to make things even worse, someone goes after his pregnant daughter, Maria! It’s like his two worlds – whatever those are – are colliding, and it’s all hitting the fan. I need to figure out what’s going on and protect my family!

Angelo needs to figure out who is threatening his family, and he’s starting by revisiting old cases for answers – a difficult task considering how many he’s handled. Memory of a Killer tells the story of a man struggling with memory loss who is also finding his sense of morality.

The series also stars Richard Harmon, Odeya Rush, Peter Gadiot, and Daniel David Stewart. Michaela McManus and Gina Torres will appear in multiple episodes.

Geeraerts’s novel has been made into a movie before. A Belgian action-thriller called The Alzheimer Case came out in 2003, and an American remake titled Memory starring Liam Neeson was released in 2022.

Memory of a Killer premieres on Prime Video on 5 February.
