Many of the well-known voice actors who shape English-language animation and entertainment worked on the popular series Dragon Ball. Christopher Sabat, the voice of Vegeta and Piccolo, recently starred in a new project that quickly gained over 10 million views in just three days. Increasingly, independent content creators are achieving huge success with projects that major studios initially turned down, and Gameoverse is the newest example of a rejected idea proving its potential.
Making an engaging animated series is incredibly challenging these days. High production costs, tough working environments, and the complex process of getting a quality show to audiences all contribute to the difficulty. That’s why truly original and exciting series really grab attention and quickly gain a large following. The pilot episode of Gameoverse appears to be doing just that, judging by its impressive view count on YouTube.
Created by the team behind The Amazing Digital Circus, Gameoverse is a new animated action-comedy series. It follows a group of unlikely heroes as they journey through worlds based on video games, trying to prevent a strange apocalypse. The first episode shows that Gameoverse has fantastic world-building, a great voice cast, and a compelling story – making it a show you won’t want to miss.
GameOverse Stars Christopher Sabat, Showrunner Ross O’Donnovan, and Writer Arin Hanson
The animated series Gameoverse kicks off with an exciting action scene, immediately grabbing your attention. The story centers around Kit (voiced by Erika Lindbeck), a cat who loves chili dogs. After winning a difficult battle, Kit realizes that defeating the main villain has unleashed an even bigger and more dangerous problem.
To save other worlds from a similar disaster, Kit teams up with a group of heroes who each come from worlds inspired by different types of video games. They quickly develop a fun, dynamic like the team in Guardians of the Galaxy, thanks to the excellent character development by Arin Hanson and Ross O’Donnovan, who also lead the show. Luckily, the villains in Gameoverse are just as funny and engaging as the heroes.
Kit and her friends are working hard to complete their mission and save people, but they’re facing opposition from a group called Syntax, led by the powerful Warrick (voiced by Christopher Sabat). These villains try to stop Kit, but they also provide some funny moments as the story builds towards an exciting finale. The episode ends on a cliffhanger, leaving viewers eager to see what happens next and learn more about the destruction of the worlds within Gameoverse.
Glitch Production’s New Series Opens Up A Universe Of Potential
Over twelve years ago, Ross O’Donovan (known as RubberNinja) created the first Gameoverse shorts. While the new reboot shares some characters and concepts with the original, both O’Donovan and Arin Hanson have significantly improved their skills in the years since. These online and YouTube creators not only voice characters in the new Gameoverse, but they also co-wrote the first episode.
Although more episodes of Gameoverse haven’t been officially confirmed, the first episode is excellent at introducing a compelling cast of characters and an exciting adventure that viewers will want to see continued. It’s filled with references to video games and clearly made with a lot of love and dedication by its creators. The growing popularity of the pilot suggests there’s a strong audience eager to see what happens next in the Gameoverse series.
