A Different ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Trailer to Show Before ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Every Week for a Month

As a huge movie fan, I’m really excited about Disney’s plan to promote their upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film! I just heard from The Hollywood Reporter that they’re going all-out with the marketing – they’re going to show the new trailer for Doomsday before screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash for a whole month! That’s a pretty big deal and definitely gets me hyped to see it.

4 different trailers for ‘AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY’ will be attached with ‘AVATAR: FIRE & ASH’

Each trailer will play for 1 week, before switching to the next.

This decision shows Disney believes Fire and Ash will be a major box office hit. It also indicates they expect Doomsday to be as visually spectacular and impactful as James Cameron’s most recent films.

I’m really excited to hear the upcoming trailers for this project are going to be different! From what I’ve gathered, they’re aiming for something more personal and focused on the characters themselves, rather than huge, flashy spectacles. Marvel’s keeping details close to the vest about how they’ll release the trailers – whether we’ll get full-length looks or just quick teasers is still a mystery. And while it hasn’t been officially announced, everyone’s guessing the trailers will spotlight four of the most beloved characters from the peak of the MCU, which honestly, sounds perfect!

The Steve Rogers Surprise

The first trailer will likely feature Captain America, not Doctor Doom as many fans predicted. Viewers at the premiere of Fire and Ash can expect to see Steve Rogers in action.

After the events of Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers (Captain America) officially retired. Aside from a brief, funny appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming, he hasn’t been seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, only remembered. When the cast for the upcoming Doomsday movie was revealed last March, Chris Evans – the widely praised actor who played Rogers – wasn’t included.

Launching the trailer for Doomsday before the audience for Fire and Ash reaches its highest point could help address a few problems. While the news that Evans is returning to the MCU has already leaked online, Marvel might still be able to surprise some fans. More importantly, their recent attempt to pass Captain America’s shield to Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson didn’t perform well at the box office.

The safest route for Doomsday is placing the legacy characters front and center in the marketing.

The Remaining Three

Future trailers for Doomsday will likely highlight Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, and Doctor Doom. Even though Robert Downey Jr. isn’t reprising his role as Iron Man, he’s still a very well-known figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Recent Thor films haven’t pleased everyone, and even the actor who plays Thor has been unhappy with how the character has evolved. Still, both Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr. have the potential to draw audiences back to the movies after Avengers: Endgame.

You know, after watching the latest Doomsday trailer, I’m getting the sense they’re shifting gears a bit. It feels less focused on any single hero and more like an introduction to a whole team of characters. I think they’re doing this to generate excitement and build anticipation for these newer faces – a smart move, if you ask me.

Revival

Creating and showing several trailers is expensive. But with Doomsday and the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars potentially costing over $2 billion to make, Disney wants to maximize its promotional efforts. Avatar films consistently attract big audiences in premium theaters, so attaching a Doomsday trailer – or several – before those showings seems like a great way to generate initial excitement.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe boasts many memorable characters, and Disney still has the actors who originally played them. By referencing past stories and hinting at the return of beloved heroes, Disney hopes to reignite interest in the franchise, which has been facing challenges lately.
