On one hand, I’m heartened by Jackie’s courage to share her struggles with addiction, as it shines a light on the dark corners of our society and helps break down the stigma around substance abuse.

Critics have criticized the program A Current Affair for using dim lighting during an interview featuring Allison Langdon and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, as pointed out by its viewers.

Immediately following its broadcast, the current events show posted an excerpt from the interview on their online platforms, where the popular radio personality, aged 49, candidly discussed her marital breakdown with Lee Henderson.

However, instead of dwelling on the intricacies of Jackie’s romantic affairs, some Instagram viewers found themselves more curious about her appearance under the dim illumination.

‘Producers did her so dirty with this lighting,’ one person wrote.

‘Yes I know she’s “pushing 50” and blah blah, but Jackie is a gorgeous woman, and this lighting aged her like 10 years!’ another agreed.

Jackie acknowledged this, exclaiming “Indeed!” She was speaking about a time when she struggled severely with addiction, as she was taking as many as 12 Stilnox sleeping pills and 24 Panadeine Forte tablets every day, frequently accompanied by alcohol.

Nat seemed surprised. “Were you under the influence during that time?” she questioned, referring to the interview. “Do you recall it clearly?” she inquired, as Jackie claimed she did.

In August 2022, the interview under discussion happened, only a few months prior to when Henderson admitted himself to the Betty Ford Clinic in the United States, seeking help for his struggle with substance abuse involving drugs and alcohol.

She expressed that during our Weight Watchers interview, I felt as if I was pretending or falsifying my identity.

Jackie added, “Occasionally, I’d need to engage in a conversation similar to an interview with you. At such times, I’d style my hair and apply makeup.

You might think I’m leading a joyful life, but in reality, things are quite different and far from ideal.

During a 2022 interview conducted by Nat, the radio host, at her residence, the topic under discussion was Jackie’s second endeavor to shed pounds using Weight Watchers, now known as WW.

During their conversation, Jackie appeared cheerful and managed to follow along smoothly, showing no signs suggesting she was under the influence of her prescribed medications at that moment.

In the depths of her dependency, Jackie admitted that she took as many as twelve Stilnox sleeping pills and twenty-four Panadeine Forte tablets every day, frequently accompanied by alcohol.

As a dedicated admirer, I’d rephrase it like this: I’ve come to realize that Jackie confessed she was warned against lessening her medication dosage prior to her departure for the U.S. clinic. In simpler terms, this implies that she was still consuming those substances on the very day she boarded a plane for America.

In 2022, when Jackie temporarily stopped participating in the show, Kyle Sandilands informed listeners that she was choosing to prioritize her health as she had recently been infected with COVID-19.
