As a longtime fan of “Dancing With the Stars,” I must say that this season’s roster is nothing short of intriguing! It’s like a delightful mix of the familiar and the unexpected, with a touch of scandal here and there.

It seems that ‘Dancing With the Stars’ has returned, with its cast list indicating that all familiar faces will be present.

On Wednesday morning, a 18-time Emmy-winning reality show unveiled its latest group of famous contestants vying for the Mirrorball Trophy in Season 33. Although these competitors may be fresh faces, the character types they embody are nothing new.

Previously dismissed Reality TV Star Phaedra Parks has taken up the position formerly occupied by Ariana Madix during Season 32, most recently reappearing on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” following a six-year absence. Notably, her departure from Bravo’s show in 2009 was due to an admission that she had spread a false date-rape accusation concerning fellow cast members.

Currently, Reginald VelJohnson, known for the ’90s sitcom “Family Matters,” is capturing hearts as this season’s most beloved alum from a TV show. Previous title holders include Alyson Hannigan from “How I Met Your Mother,” followed by Florence Henderson and her TV son Barry Williams from “The Brady Bunch.” Anna Delvey (Sorokin), the woman famously known as the “fake heiress” who deceived New York’s high society, is this season’s intriguing wild card. Notable figures in a similar category include Bristol Palin, Kate Gosselin, and Schapelle Corby, who served nine years in an Indonesian prison for drug smuggling convictions.

This season’s lineup includes well-known sports figures such as NBA champion Dwight Howard, ex-NFL wide receiver Danny Amendola, and Olympic athletes Ilona Maher (the renowned rugby player) and Stephen Nedoroscik (famously known as the “pommel horse guy“).

Last month, Nedoroscik became the initial contestant announced for Season 33 and subsequently clinched an individual bronze medal at the men’s gymnastics team final held in Paris. Not only did he secure a personal victory, but his team also triumphed, earning their first individual medal since 2016 and their first team medal in 16 years – Team USA’s respective milestones for individual and team achievements.

He shared with “Good Morning America” following the announcement, “I plan to incorporate some of those acrobatic moves commonly seen in gymnastics into the dance competition.” He hinted at possibly executing a backflip or handstand during the event.

Previously, Olympic gymnasts Simone Biles (season 24) and Suni Lee (season 30) showcased their moves on “Dancing with the Stars.

Finally, the show’s sponsored-by-ABC slot will be shared by “Bachelor” Joey Graziadei and “Bachelorette” Jenn Tran — the latter of whom was tapped just moments after her season’s Tuesday evening finale, she told UsWeekly Wednesday. Bachelor Nation’s Charity Lawson competed last season.

Additionally, we have “Beverly Hills, 90210” series regular Tori Spelling, Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts (brother of Julia Roberts and father to Emma Roberts), Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Brooks Nader, and Disney Channel star Chandler Kinney joining our group.

According to a report from last month, Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro will resume their roles as co-hosts, while Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough take up positions on the judging panel.

The popular show ‘Dancing With the Stars’ will begin its new season on September 17th at 8 p.m., airing simultaneously on ABC and Disney+. If you miss the live broadcast, don’t worry! You can catch up with it the next day on Hulu.
