A 14.5kg wedding dress and a venue beloved by Queen Elizabeth Inside Delta Goodrem’s destination summer wedding to Matthew Copley in Malta

Delta Goodrem and her long-term partner, Matthew Copley, exchanged vows in a luxurious destination wedding held in Malta recently.

Ever since their wedding, the joyful pair has been enjoying a luxurious married life, occasionally sharing tidbits about their summer wedding with excited fans.

Recently, a detailed account of the three-day celebration emerged, showing that the singer, aged 40, kicked off her wedding festivities at The Phoenicia Malta. She made an entrance in a personalized 14.5 kg designer wedding gown.

In 2023, the place where the musician was, turned out to be particularly meaningful because that’s where Matthew decided to propose to Delta at the prestigious five-star heritage hotel.

In Malta’s stunning Mediterranean gem, where our love story unfolded, I found myself starting on this incredible journey with Delta. Later, we stood united at the majestic St Paul’s Cathedral in Mdina during our official ceremony.

The Phoenicia Hotel in Malta was particularly cherished by the late Queen Elizabeth II, boasting Art Deco interior designs, secluded gardens, breathtaking sea vistas, and a grand historic ballroom.

Without a doubt, Matthew noticed the enchantment of the place, since he proposed to Delta in the hotel’s expansive seven-acre garden, with the accompaniment of a string quartet.

During their wedding week in June, the couple revisited a cherished memory while residing at The Phoenicia Malta for the entire festivities.

Delta had confidence in the hotel’s care, so she handed over her 14.5 kg custom-made Paolo Sebastian wedding dress for safekeeping before her wedding day.

On her wedding day, she prepared during the morning at the hotel while wedding planner Sarah Young, along with Palazzo Parisio and WonderEvents, orchestrated the wedding arrangements.

Delta concluded her enchanting wedding week at the acclaimed location by capturing a heartfelt, sunset snapshot of her loved ones in the beautifully landscaped gardens.

‘The team at The Phoenicia Malta made it feel like home,’ Delta later shared.

‘We captured this photo outside the hotel, with all the beautiful team at the hotel waving us off.’

‘Thank you to everyone for making our special week even more special,’ she finished.

Enya Stellini, the Events Manager at The Phoenicia Malta, expressed that it was a privilege to welcome Delta and Matthew during the significant event.

‘It has been an honour to support Delta and Matthew from the very beginning,’ she said.

The tale they share embodies the essence of what we aim to provide for couples – a blend of captivating beauty, tender intimacy, and an unforgettable atmosphere steeped in Malta’s rich historical tapestry.

The festivities served as a testament to the unique, individual nature of destination weddings, and it’s easy to understand why Malta remains an irresistible choice for couples worldwide, not just for their wedding day, but for many days to come.

Delta shared a first look at her ‘fairytale’ wedding with Vogue Australia is July.

On her wedding day, the radiant bride captivated everyone in a wedding dress featuring an off-the-shoulder design and a provocative sweetheart neckline, crafted by the talented hand of Paul Vasileff, the creator of Paolo Sebastian, hailing from South Australia.

The French tulle gown featured gorgeous lattice detailing and a two-and-a-half metre train.

Delta collaborated with the designer for about three months to design a gown that felt incredibly unique and exceptionally meaningful.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, let me share an intriguing tale from my recent conversations with Delta. Upon hearing the news of my engagement, our artistic bond sparked instantly, and without delay, we immersed ourselves in a creative partnership. This is how she described our collaboration on her stunning couture piece to Vogue.

The intricately crafted dress, requiring approximately 500 laborious hours and tipping the scales at 14.5 kilograms, subtly echoed the couple’s romantic journey. Embellishments such as their wedding date, a pair of swans, and cherubs woven into the fabric, served as nods to their love story.

Delta and Matthew pledged their commitment within the ancient walls of St. Paul’s Cathedral in Mdina, a structure that dates back to the 12th century.

The event continued at the elegant Palazzo Parisio in Naxxar, a historic property boasting beautiful 18th-century gardens.

It seems that attendees of this extremely exclusive wedding were given comprehensive itineraries months prior, indicating that the event represented the final stage of a meticulous two-year planning journey.

The wedding was a lavish multi-day celebration attended by the couple’s nearest and dearest.

2025, June – Husband and Wife. The experience turned out to be even more enchanting than we dared to imagine, as Delta expressed in a heartfelt Instagram post.

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but share this heartfelt tale – I exchanged vows beneath the azure Maltese sky, witnessing a dreamlike family affair unfold. It seemed as if countless angels had been enlisted to bring our wedding vision to life, surrounding us with their love and grace.

We’re cherishing each recollection from that time – the affection, the mirth, the joyful tears, and the dance lasting until daybreak.
