Kaye Adams’ friends in the entertainment industry are rallying around her, asking for privacy after she was removed from her BBC Radio Scotland show, which paid £155,000 annually. This follows an investigation into her conduct, but supporters describe her as a genuinely kind person.
Olivia Attwood, Stacey Solomon, Nadia Sawalha, Katie Piper, Sunetra Sarker, and Carol Vorderman – all stars of the show Loose Women – showed their support for Kaye Adams on Instagram after she publicly denied recent allegations.
Ruth Longford, Coleen Nolan, Frankie Bridge, Denise Welch, Brenda Edwards, and Judi Love, who all appear on the show, haven’t yet shared their reactions.
Earlier this month, an internal investigation revealed that Kaye, 63, was found responsible for three instances of misconduct. These included reportedly using inappropriate language towards a coworker, throwing a pen at someone, and harshly criticizing an intern’s work.
Kaye left the BBC last month after being suspended in October while the company investigated two bullying complaints. Those complaints were ultimately not substantiated.
Nadia, 61, one of the original panelists on Loose Women with Kaye, spoke out emotionally, saying it was time to stop bothering her longtime friend and leave her alone.
She shared that she and Kaye Adams have been friends for 26 years and wholeheartedly supports her. She later angrily demanded that people stop bothering Kaye Adams.
Nadia continued, telling Kaye to stay confident because so many people recognize what a wonderful person and dedicated professional she is.
Olivia responded with several heart emojis, and Stacey wrote a message saying Kaye is one of the kindest people on television, adding ‘I love you Kaye’.
Sunetra wrote a lovely tribute, describing the person as a remarkably professional, kind, and fair colleague.
I’m just so upset to see Kaye going through this – it’s a really tough and frankly, avoidable situation. I want her to know I’m completely on her side. Honestly, if I could build a team of anyone, Kaye would be my first pick, always. Sending her all my support. Xx
Carol Vorderman enthusiastically agreed, saying ‘Absolutely,’ and Katie Piper showed her support on social media with heart emojis.
EastEnders actress Luisa Bradshaw-White shared that Kaye Adams was incredibly supportive when she filled in as a presenter. She said Kaye had her back, was very kind, and really took care of her, adding, ‘It was wonderful working alongside you, Kaye.’
Suzanne Shaw from Hear’Say shared a message of support for Kaye Adams, saying she doesn’t know her very well personally, but has always found her to be a kind, welcoming, and gracious interviewer and colleague. She urged people to stop unfairly damaging Kaye’s reputation, and expressed her hope that Kaye knows she is well-loved.
This follows a statement from Jane Moore, a fellow panelist on Loose Women, who shared that she’s worked with Kaye for almost 30 years and always found her to be kind and helpful to those starting their careers.
I’m aware that many current and former colleagues wrote to BBC Scotland to voice their support for her, but it didn’t appear to change the final decision.
On Thursday, Kaye used Instagram to strongly deny claims that she used a derogatory slur and yelled at an intern 14 years ago.
As a lifestyle expert, I often see rumors swirl, and recently I’ve become aware of some untrue stories going around about why I left BBC Scotland. It’s frustrating, but I want to be clear that these stories are malicious and simply not accurate.
Kaye continues to appear on ITV’s Loose Women as a panelist and presenter, and the show has publicly stated its support for her.
Since her suspension, several of her colleagues have publicly voiced their support, including Denise Welch and Nadia Sawalha.
Oh my gosh, she has a podcast too! It’s called ‘How To Be 60’ with Karen MacKenzie, and she’s actually talked about how much pressure she was under during that whole BBC investigation. I mean, can you imagine? It just makes me feel for her even more, knowing she was dealing with all that and still putting out amazing work!
She recently revealed she’d lost weight and lacked an appetite. She previously told the Mail on Sunday that her reputation had been damaged.
Her friends worried that Victoria Easton-Riley, who became the head of BBC Scotland radio in May 2025, had unfairly targeted her, creating a situation they described as a ‘witch-hunt’.
In just six months, Victoria canceled Good Morning Scotland, the station’s longest-running show, and launched Radio Scotland Breakfast, now hosted by Martin Geissler and Laura Maciver.
A month later, the network announced it was cancelling four more late-night music shows and letting go of their hosts: Iain Anderson, Roddy Hart, Billy Sloan, and Natasha Raskin Sharp.
People familiar with the situation said the decision regarding Kaye followed a team meeting. The new manager observed something during the meeting that she considered problematic, and then discussed her concerns with others about Kaye.
This followed the company’s recent launch of ‘Call It Out,’ a campaign designed to encourage employees to report any behavior they considered inappropriate.
The program was created after a review of BBC workplace culture revealed that some prominent individuals and managers were acting inappropriately, and leaders weren’t consistently addressing the issue.
This review was launched after Huw Edwards, a former news presenter, admitted to having images of child abuse.
Gregg Wallace, the host of MasterChef, was fired after an investigation confirmed 45 complaints about his conduct, which included inappropriate touching and appearing inappropriately dressed.
Naga Munchetty, a presenter on BBC Breakfast, is being formally investigated following complaints about her behavior. Despite the investigation, she is continuing to appear on the program.
BBC Chairman Samir Shah has stated that some individuals in positions of power continue to create a difficult environment for their colleagues. He also directly addressed presenters, making it clear that anyone who believes they are above the BBC’s standards will be identified and held accountable. He emphasized that no one is too important to follow the organization’s values.
Kaye’s representatives and the BBC were approached for comment.
