They said it was braking suddenly, swerving all over the road, and even didn’t have a working tail light. You could really hear the urgency in their voice as it was happening.
I clearly heard an officer ask for all available units nearby to head towards the car that was driving erratically. It sounded urgent, like they needed backup fast to deal with the potentially dangerous situation.
Police said they chased a black BMW convertible, model year 2026, before stopping Spears.
Police started chasing the vehicle around 8:13 p.m., and it wasn’t until an hour later, at 9:13 p.m., that they confirmed the driver, Spears, had left the car.
I was really paying attention during the recording, and I heard one of the officers specifically ask for a Drug Recognition Expert – a DRE, for short. These are specialists trained by the California Highway Patrol to figure out if someone is driving under the influence of drugs. It’s good to know they have these trained professionals available.
Another officer could then be heard asking for the DRE to get to the scene as quickly as possible.
According to reports from TMZ, Britney Spears was reportedly taken to a hospital for a blood test to check her alcohol level.
Spears will now have a court hearing on May 4.
After the arrest, the singer’s representative told the Daily Mail that the situation was unacceptable and Britney will fully cooperate with the law. They hope this incident marks the beginning of positive changes she needs in her life.
