Fitness trainer Jono Castano has acknowledged past ‘poor choices’ and shared proof of a negative drug test on Instagram.
The owner of ACERO gym, who has been in the news recently due to a public dispute with his ex-girlfriend Simone Holtznagel, posted the message on Friday, just three days after celebrating his 35th birthday.
He shared a screenshot of his drug test results, which confirmed he didn’t test positive for drugs like cocaine or MDMA. He also wrote a sincere message about how much he’s grown as a person recently.
Jono started by clarifying he wasn’t looking for pity, but wanted to highlight a problem and who was responsible. He then shared how easily things can go wrong in life.
He explained that when life gets overwhelming – with pressure, stress, and poor choices – it’s easy to start acting in ways that don’t reflect your true self.
He encouraged people who felt trapped to take charge of their lives, stating: ‘Don’t wait for someone else to fix things. You have to choose to make a change, or you’ll remain in the same situation.’
Jono shared that he’s spent the last five months working on getting his life back on track, prioritizing things like self-discipline, a consistent routine, physical fitness, and mental clarity.
He explained that his achievements aren’t just personal; they’re for his daughter, Gia, who is almost two years old, as well as for his entire family and everyone who relies on him for support and direction.
He concluded his message with a powerful reminder to his followers: ‘Don’t think of yourself as weak. A single choice can completely turn things around. Begin making those changes now, take charge of your life, and you’ll be grateful you did in the future.’
People responded to his post with a lot of encouragement, and even his former wife, Amy Castano, showed her support, writing, ‘I always believed in you – you just needed to do things when you were ready.’
Amy’s new boyfriend Aaron Evans meanwhile replied with several love heart emojis.
This post follows a recent disagreement between Jono and Simone regarding how they share parenting responsibilities and financial support for their child.
The conflict began after Simone publicly shared on Instagram that Jono had only been contributing $40 a week towards their child’s expenses until very recently, following a monitored visit.
Jono insists he paid Simone fairly and has provided bank transfer records showing he sent her thousands of dollars since December to prove it.
He admitted that until recently, he’d only been paying his ex-partner $45 a week in child support. They hadn’t been able to agree on a fair amount, and he claimed she’d initially asked for a sum he considered unaffordable.
On Friday, February 6th, Simone posted a lively video on her Instagram Stories. It showed her dancing with her young child in her arms, and she playfully flipped off the camera.
She captioned a video, ‘Here’s how I’d probably react if my child’s father showed up 45 minutes late to their scheduled supervised visit.’
Simone criticized Jono’s former wife and business associate, Amy, as well as his current girlfriend, Emily Ryder, and then brought up questions about his driver’s license.
She described arriving at the location in her new boyfriend’s car, which was being driven by her husband – neither of them owned a car themselves.
This trainer, who claims to be a celebrity expert, hasn’t held a valid license for four years and recently learned about standard child support payments.

Shortly after Simone shared her post, which quickly gained thousands of views, Jono responded with a video on Instagram.
He accused Simone of posting false information and then shared screenshots of bank transactions to prove he’d sent his ex-partner nearly $8,500 since December.
However, he did concede he’d been making significantly lower payments before then.
Simone said Jono asked about her being pregnant, specifically mentioning her stomach. Jono clarified that he actually told her he was happy for Gia if she was pregnant.
