Amber Davies hits back at claims of a brewing feud between her and Legally Blonde understudy Hannah Lowther

Amber Davies has responded to rumors of a disagreement with her Legally Blonde replacement, Hannah Lowther.

According to a report in the Daily Mail+, there’s been growing friction between Amber and Hannah, and some people believe Hannah is significantly more talented.

I was really worried when I heard about the rumors of a falling out between the stars, but thankfully Amber herself has cleared things up. She explained she had to miss some shows because she wasn’t feeling well, and that’s all it was! It’s such a relief to know everything is okay and it wasn’t a personal conflict.

The Strictly Come Dancing star, 29, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram on Thursday, praising her understudy, Hannah, for keeping things running smoothly while she focuses on getting better.

I wanted to send a huge thank you to @hannahlowther for being so understanding and supportive while I was sick and getting better. She gave me the time and space I needed to recover.

‘The show is in safe hands ALWAYS.’

Amber shared that she’s currently off work due to the flu and is taking antibiotics to recover so she can return to her main role in the tour.

So excited to get back on stage with my amazing castmates – my work family! Just got a new set of antibiotics from the doctor to finally kick this cough that’s been hanging around for over a month. Has anyone else dealt with a cough that lasted this long?

I’m working hard to get back on stage as quickly as possible! It’s been six years since I last had the flu – back when I had Covid – so I figured it was bound to happen eventually.

Fans of Legally Blonde The Musical were really upset and frustrated when the Thursday afternoon show was cancelled only two hours beforehand.

The popular musical, adapted from the beloved 2001 movie, has been traveling across the country for the last month, featuring Amber in the main role of Elle Woods.

Unfortunately, Amber had to stop performing on Wednesday after becoming ill during the show. Her understudy, Hannah, took over for the rest of the performance.

After her performance, she shared on Instagram that her health had suffered due to a busy period – appearing in The Great Gatsby, unexpectedly joining Strictly, and immediately starting rehearsals for Legally Blonde.

Amber shared a selfie and explained in a detailed post that she was sick and taking antibiotics, meaning she wouldn’t be performing for the foreseeable future.

It seems the show had trouble adapting to the Love Island star’s sudden absence, and the afternoon performance at Milton Keynes Theatre, scheduled for 2:30pm, had to be canceled.

The theatre shared on Instagram at noon on Thursday that they had to cancel this afternoon’s performance of Legally Blonde because some cast members are sick.

We’ve emailed all ticket holders with information about exchanging their tickets for another performance or getting a full refund.

Tonight’s shows will happen as planned. We’re sorry for any trouble this may have caused.

Hannah normally plays Elle in Thursday afternoon shows, but those performances have been cancelled so she can get enough rest now that she’s also performing in the evenings.

Hannah, a popular TikTok creator with 1.3 million followers and training from the Italia Conti Academy, announced on Instagram that she would be performing as Elle in the evening show.

Unfortunately, several members of the Legally Blonde cast are also sick or injured.

Rosanna Harris, who stars as Serena in the show, posted on Instagram Thursday saying she had a sore throat. She shared a photo of cough medicine and throat lozenges, jokingly captioning it ‘Sponsored by…’

Ty-Reece Stewart, who plays Kyle, is also sick with a cough. He jokingly shared the theatre’s cancellation announcement, adding a caption that he was feeling quite unwell.

Daisy Twells, who sometimes fills in for Margot when Hannah plays Elle, is currently taking time off due to an injury.

While many people offered support and good wishes to the performers, the show’s cancellation also upset a lot of potential audience members, some of whom had already traveled to attend.
