In 2019, Andy Carroll and his fiancee, Billi Mucklow, excitedly purchased their dream home, looking forward to building a future there with their family.
Known as ‘Carroll Castle,’ this large house in Essex was intended to be the start of their dream life together – a place to welcome their third child, build a family with everyone together, and enjoy a long and happy marriage.
The beautiful home, originally purchased from Sir Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster, has unfortunately come to represent something else entirely.
What once seemed like a dream home is now at the heart of a difficult and complicated divorce.
A former Premier League soccer player is significantly reducing the price of their home to quickly sell it and finalize their divorce.
There’s another possible reason why the 37-year-old seems so eager to finalize things: they might be getting married again much quicker than people think.
According to friends, Andy is eager to marry his girlfriend, celebrity hair stylist Lou Teasdale, but they can’t make wedding plans until his divorce from Billi is complete.
Not everyone close to the situation is convinced the whirlwind romance is a wise move.
Okay, so people are saying their relationship is a disaster, honestly! They’re calling it pathetic and embarrassing, and they think this whole thing with getting married is happening way too fast. But I don’t see it! I think they’re perfect together, and everyone is just jealous. Still, it stings to hear people talk about them like that, even if I know they’re wrong!
‘They are totally in love and they are definitely living their best lives,’ the insider said.
It’s just all a bit awkward. Lou is constantly talking about marriage as if they’re still young and dating. He’s completely smitten with her and willing to do whatever she asks. You have to wonder if this intense feeling will last, though.
Andy and Billi listed their large six-bedroom house in Epping for £8 million last October. This came after a previous sale fell through the previous summer.
The couple initially agreed to sell their large country property for £8.5 million in June, which would have given them a profit of £4.4 million.
Finally, this would have let them officially end their marriage, putting months of hurtful rumors and accusations behind them.
The price of the property has now been lowered to £7.5 million, only a few months after it was put back on the market. Sources suggest this indicates Andy is eager to sell quickly.
Honestly, seeing him sell everything felt like the last hurdle to getting his life back on track, and finally being able to truly move forward with Lou. It was like he was finally letting go of the past and embracing a future with her – it just felt right, you know?
Lou recently confirmed just how committed Andy is to their new relationship, ending any speculation about its seriousness.
The stylist who used to work with One Direction recently shared their future plans on the ‘We Need To Talk’ podcast, and even confessed they’d be thrilled to marry the footballer.
There’s one clear issue, though,” she said. “I really want to marry him, but he’s still married. I hope it’s okay that I’m saying that.”
Okay, so Lou said they’re taking it slow, but honestly? The way she talks about him… it’s definitely more than just friends. You can just feel the connection, even if she’s trying to downplay it. I’m telling you, they’re head over heels, even if they’re trying to be careful about it!
Navigating new love as a parent can be tricky, and that’s been my experience recently. It’s been wonderful, we’re really falling for each other, but we’re definitely taking things at a comfortable pace. We both have teenagers – he has a couple, and I have a daughter – and he also has younger children. Blending families takes time and consideration, so we’re prioritizing a slow and steady approach to make sure everyone feels secure and happy.
I really connect with him – we see things the same way, and I’ve never felt that level of understanding with a partner before. I’ve had friends who were similar, but this is different. He felt like a breath of fresh air, and I didn’t expect him to be the way he is.
Andy and Billi, a former star of the reality show Towie, finalized their divorce in July 2024. Friends say the couple had been experiencing difficulties in their relationship for several years.
The pair had been together for more than a decade and became engaged just a year after meeting.
For a while, it looked like they were finally getting the happy ending they’d always dreamed of.
After eight years of dating, they finally got married in a beautiful and elaborate ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hampshire.
The wedding almost didn’t happen at all. Just before the ceremony, Andy went to Dubai for a bachelor party with his friends. Shortly after, pictures appeared online showing the footballer unconscious in a hotel bed with two women.
Taylor Jane Wilkey was also photographed in a bathroom wearing a dressing gown that belonged to Andy and had been personalized for him.
The images quickly spread across social media and Billi was said to be devastated.
At one point she even removed her £200,000 engagement ring and left their home.
However, just a few days later, the couple surprised everyone by getting back together and proceeding with their wedding as planned.
But their marriage was over within two years.
Andy announced on Instagram that he and Billi separated earlier this year and are now moving forward with their divorce.
After the separation, Billi continued to live in the family home with their three children: Arlo, Wolf, and Marvel Mae.
She also continues to help care for Andy’s two children from a previous relationship: 15-year-old Emilie Rose and 14-year-old Lucas.
Those close to the family admit things have been tough. Andy has started a new relationship with Lou, but Billi remains at home with the kids, doing her best to keep life as stable as possible.
The situation became more complicated last week when Andy denied accusations of violating a restraining order by repeatedly contacting Billi.
People close to the situation say the couple’s heated argument has caused a rift among their friends in Essex.
One insider claimed, despite the turmoil, Billi has emerged from the situation changed.
‘Billi has become a much, much nicer person,’ said a friend of the former couple.
Going through this experience has changed her. She’s likely recognizing that their relationship didn’t always bring out the best in her, but now that he’s gone, she’s become much kinder and more agreeable.
The divorce started last September, but the legal details haven’t been completed yet.
Although Andy seems eager to build a relationship with Lou, things haven’t been easy between them.
Andy and his new partner connected at Glastonbury Festival soon after his breakup with Billi, and they quickly began publicly displaying their relationship.
The couple has been dating for about a year and a half, but they’ve broken up and gotten back together three times during that time.
I’ve heard from people close to Andy and his partners that a lot of their splits happened after arguments when alcohol was involved. Apparently, Andy’s really trying to drink less now, hoping it’ll help things stay stable this time. He seems determined to make it work!
Despite the ups and downs, the pair appear determined to make it work.
Back in Essex, Billi simply continues to focus on family life.
Despite a continuing legal battle, she often shares pictures on Instagram of all five of her children together, showcasing a close and happy family.
Friends say those close to her have been angered by the situation.
A lot of people think it’s unfair that she’s stuck at home with the kids while Andy gets to travel and pursue a new relationship.
An insider said the situation feels ‘disrespectful’, but Billi is determined to keep her head high.
She’s still finalizing the divorce details with her lawyers and doesn’t want to start dating again right now. Her main focus is taking care of her children.
And the property itself is almost as famous as its owners.
Andy and Billi bought a historic manor house for a great price from a famous musician. Originally listed for £7.5 million, Sir Rod was forced to lower the price to £4.1 million before selling it.
The estate is a sports lover’s dream.
The estate includes a full-size football pitch that Sir Rod generously opened to teams like Newcastle United, Liverpool, and especially his favorite club, Celtic, for training sessions while he owned the property.
Rod originally purchased the estate in 1986 for £1.2 million. The property also features a boating lake, tennis courts, a swimming pool, and extensive gardens.
The property boasts horse stables, a private pub, and an outdoor kitchen, making it a standout home in the neighborhood.
And the property even has a place in British history.
During the Blitz in World War II, it’s believed that Winston Churchill, who was Prime Minister at the time, used Wood House as a residence while London was under attack.
What used to be the heart of Andy and Billi’s family now stands as the last thing keeping them from fully moving on.
Now that Andy wants to remarry, it looks like Carroll Castle might soon be sold.
If lowering the price leads to a sale, it could mark the end of one of Essex’s most public and messy celebrity divorces.
It’s still uncertain if Andy’s quick decision to get remarried will actually lead to the happiness he’s looking for.
