Amber Valletta was a hot 1990s supermodel who landed the cover of Vogue several times.

The experienced model, who is 5’10” tall, has also worked with major fashion brands including Calvin Klein, Fendi, and Versace.

The photogenic wonder then began to focus on her career as an actress.

I remember when I first noticed her – it was in ‘What Lies Beneath’ back in 2000! She played this really chilling poltergeist alongside Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer. It was a breakout role for her, a fantastic performance in a genuinely spooky thriller, and it definitely put her on the map.

In a recent interview with NET-A-PORTER’s digital magazine, model and actress Porter shared that overcoming her struggles with substance abuse was key to saving her life.

The celebrity openly admitted that if they relapse and use drugs or alcohol, despite loving their life and family, they fear it would lead to their destruction. They stated they wouldn’t survive it and would lose everything.

Model Amber publicly discussed her struggles with addiction in July 2014, sharing that she first experimented with drugs at age 10 and began using cocaine at 18.

The former Giorgio Armani model spoke openly about her past, saying she wasn’t ashamed of her previous substance use. She admitted, ‘I wasn’t bothered if people saw me using drugs or alcohol – I didn’t hide it.’

I don’t understand why I should feel embarrassed about being clean and admitting I struggle with a condition I can’t help. Staying sober is my only hope for a future.

Since becoming famous, Amber has also taken on the role of an activist, representing Oceana in their campaign to address seafood contamination.

In November, police arrested her for obstructing traffic while she protested climate change with Jane Fonda in Washington, DC.

The woman, with blonde hair, firmly defended her decision to be arrested, explaining she felt a strong urge to express herself and embrace her individuality, regardless of others’ opinions.

I felt I couldn’t just stand by – I needed to take a direct stand and risk my own well-being. That’s why I chose to get arrested, as a way to make a point. I believe my life, and everyone’s life, is worth defending and fighting for.

The mother of one explained her strong convictions, stating, ‘I truly believe in this, and I’m willing to face the consequences – even public criticism or imprisonment. It was a deeply moving experience.’

This is the biggest challenge we have right now. While diseases like cancer, AIDS, diabetes, and addiction are all serious, this crisis threatens everything – if we don’t address it, nothing else will matter.

Amber, who has a 25-year-old son named Auden with her former husband Chip McCaw, says she feels overwhelmed with sadness when she considers climate change and what it means for the future.

She said it breaks her heart to think about her great-grandchildren growing up in a world without elephants or whales – a world where they’d miss out on experiencing such amazing creatures.
