Oh my gosh, I’m so worried about Jenelle Evans and her family! I just heard that her son, Jace – he’s only 16! – apparently had a really scary incident with his grandma, and it involved a gun! It’s awful, and now he’s getting help at a mental health hospital. I’m just hoping he gets the support he needs and that everyone is okay. It’s just… heartbreaking to hear about things like this happening to people you follow and care about.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m deeply saddened to share some difficult news. Reports from TMZ indicate that Josh Evans’s mother, Barbara, recently called 911 from their home in North Carolina, concerned for both their safety. Apparently, she feared for her grandson’s well-being and believed he was in a crisis, alleging he’d threatened suicide and potentially harmed himself with a handgun. She requested an involuntary commitment to get him the help he needed.
A representative told the Daily Mail that Jenelle’s son is getting the care he needs, and she has been working hard to find the best treatment and support for him to improve.
She consistently went above and beyond to find the best possible care for her son, demonstrating her strong love and dedication to his health and future.
They added: ‘At this time, we respectfully ask for privacy for the family and Jenelle Evans.
This is a private issue, and they ask for space and consideration as they prioritize their health and time with each other. They appreciate everyone respecting their privacy right now.
I’m hearing from reliable sources that Chris Evans’s mom actually called 911 on February 27th. It seems she was the one who reached out for help that day.
Barbara reportedly told her daughter about her intention to go to court to assist with Jace’s care. Jace currently lives with his grandmother, while Jenelle lives in Las Vegas with her other children.
TMZ reported on Monday that a 911 call from Barbara’s house involved a disturbance with a teenager who was having difficulties.
According to a report, seven police officers were sent to the house after receiving a call.
On Tuesday, Evans used X to express her disappointment with her family, stating that it’s upsetting to realize a close family member is an adversary, especially considering she’d been sympathetic towards her mother’s health struggles for months.
A spokesperson for Evans stated to TMZ that they are not commenting on the situation, as it concerns private and confidential personal issues.
I’m absolutely glued to updates about Evan’s son, and it’s just killing me that nobody’s saying how long he’ll be at the facility or getting help. I just want to know he’s okay, and the waiting is awful!
According to TMZ, people close to the family are currently prioritizing his well-being and recovery.
This reported incident follows a difficult period for Evans, whose mother, Barbara, suffered a stroke and was hospitalized in October. Evans has been living with his mother since last year.
Fortunately, Evans’s mother recovered quickly and was able to go home soon after the event.
According to the publication, it’s unclear how long Jace will be under professional care.
Last year, actress Evans had a very public disagreement with her son after he posted screenshots of a heated text message conversation they had.
In an August social media post, Jace revealed his true feelings about his mother, sharing a conversation where he expressed dissatisfaction with his living arrangements and described her as ‘crazy’.
In a message to his mother, Jace stated he didn’t need her, and she didn’t need him. He also expressed confusion and accused her of being irrational because he was being honest with her.
The former 16 and Pregnant star responded with a harsh message, telling the person accusing them of trying to take their child, ‘You’re the one threatening to take my custody. I hate that.’
The messages also mentioned Kailyn’s former husband, David Eason, with Kailyn asserting that Jace wasn’t truthful when he said Eason had attempted to choke him.
Jace replied he ‘never lied,’ and he said that Eason had indeed ‘tried to’ physically assault him.
Soon after the online discussion appeared, Evans addressed her 3.1 million Instagram followers with a detailed explanation. She shared that it had been difficult raising her oldest child, who is currently facing both legal and health challenges.
She said her children mean everything to her. She strives to protect, guide, and love them, just like any parent. This sometimes involves setting rules and boundaries, which isn’t always simple.
Jace shared our private messages because he was upset about being rightfully corrected. While it’s painful to have those personal moments made public, I understand he’s going through a difficult time.
Jenelle hopes people will understand how tough things are for her family right now, and she promises to always support her son.
It’s been difficult managing Jace’s health issues, but I’m determined to ensure he gets everything he needs – support, love, and resources. I’ll always be there for him through any challenges, and I’m committed to being the best mother I can be to all three of my children.
She asked for understanding, support, and prayers, not only for herself but also for her son, Jace, and the rest of their family as they navigate this difficult situation together.
Evans added that the individual has recently faced legal issues and is struggling to follow the rules.
‘I’ve been trying to help him navigate it, but we are butting heads in the process.’
Jenelle concluded her heartfelt message by asking for understanding and kindness, saying, ‘Please give him grace at this time…this is hard on all of us.’ She finished with a crying face, broken heart, and praying hands emojis.
The Teen Mom 2 personality welcomed Jace with her ex-boyfriend Andrew Lewis in August of 2009.
Evans has two children: an 11-year-old son named Kaiser Orion Griffith, who she shares with her former partner Nathan Griffith, and an 8-year-old daughter named Ensley Jolie Eason, who she shares with her ex-husband, Eason.
In 2018, Eason was fired from MTV due to offensive tweets targeting the LGBTQ+ community. A year later, in 2019, Evans was let go from Teen Mom 2 after nine seasons, following the tragic death of her French Bulldog, Nugget, at the hands of her then-husband.
Evans first told the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office that her husband had shot their dog, but later said she hadn’t witnessed the shooting and had no proof the dog was even killed.
This led the police to close the case, but months later, Eason confessed to shooting and killing the small dog.
At the time, he claimed it had bitten their daughter Ensley, who was two at the time.
People first got to know Evans in 2010 when she was on the second season of the MTV reality show, 16 and Pregnant.
