Elizabeth Olsen’s potential role in Avengers: Doomsday has received an exciting update.
Marvel is currently finishing up work on Avengers: Doomsday, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. The film is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters this December, and a follow-up movie, Avengers: Secret Wars, is planned for December 2027.
Marvel has released four short previews for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie. The first preview confirmed Chris Evans will reprise his role as Steve Rogers, while the second highlighted Chris Hemsworth as Thor and the third showcased several X-Men characters. The fourth preview then featured Letitia Wright as Black Panther/Shuri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, and other characters.
What is the update on Elizabeth Olsen’s Avengers: Doomsday role?
Although Marvel hasn’t officially said if Elizabeth Olsen will return as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, many online rumors point to her appearing in the film.
Sources say Elizabeth Olsen will be in the new movie, where her character will be cursed by Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.
It’s interesting to note that Wanda previously used magic on Tony Stark (Iron Man), played by Robert Downey Jr., in the 2015 film Avengers: Age of Ultron. While the spell didn’t last, it allowed her and her brother, Pietro Maximoff (Quicksilver), to escape. She had also magically influenced the other Avengers, which caused Bruce Banner (Hulk) to briefly lose control and cause destruction in Johannesburg.
Okay, so everyone’s buzzing about Wanda Maximoff in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. There’s talk she might be under some kind of magical influence, but honestly, as a critic, I’m taking that with a huge grain of salt. Marvel’s keeping everything tightly under wraps, and right now, it’s pure speculation. Consider it a rumor until we get something official – and I’ll be sure to let you know when that happens!
The movie Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to be released on December 18, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars will follow on December 17, 2027.
