I was so moved by Brooke Warne’s sweet message to her mom, Simone Callahan, who turned 56 today. It was a really lovely tribute!
On Saturday, Shane Warne’s oldest child posted photos on Instagram expressing her deep love for her mother.
She started the series of posts with a photo of herself and Simone – the former wife of cricketer Shane – sharing a cozy moment at a restaurant.
‘I love my mummy,’ Brooke, 28, penned over the photo as she tagged her mother.
In a separate photo, Simone is seen smiling with her dog, Brooke, on a beach at sunset. Brooke captioned the picture with a heartfelt ‘I love you so much!’
The influencer posted an old photo of herself and her brother, Jackson, as kids, sitting in a stroller with their mom beside them.
I was so excited to see the latest picture! It showed Simone and Brooke hanging out with Jackson’s girlfriend, Kia Broadsmith – they all looked like they were having a great time together.
‘We are all so blessed to have you,’ Brooke wrote to her mother.
Brooke shared a video of herself and Simone happily singing along to Coldplay’s “Yellow” at a concert, showing them smiling and close together.
Simone and Shane met in Melbourne in 1992 and were married for a decade before their very public divorce in 2005.
The famous Australian cricketer passed away unexpectedly on March 4, 2022, while vacationing in Thailand. He was 52 years old and believed to have died from a heart attack.
Over Christmas, Brooke and her brother Jackson, 26, honored their father with a heartfelt gesture: they both wore some of his old cricket clothes.
Brooke shared that she attended the Boxing Day Test match against England in Melbourne on the second day while wearing a jersey from the 1998/1999 season belonging to one of the team’s star bowlers.
Jackson was seen jamming out while wearing a green and gold shirt from Shane’s 1996-1997 season, as shown in photos posted on Instagram.
The Warne children, the oldest of Shane Warne’s family, smiled for photos in front of the stand named in his honor. The Shane Warne Stand was dedicated to the legendary cricketer just three years ago, following his passing.
Honestly, seeing that comment on Instagram really got to me. Someone said ‘Your dad would be so proud. Your parents raised phenomenal humans. Incredible, really,’ and it just…felt so good to read. It’s like they really get the kind of people we are, and it’s a beautiful thing to know we were raised so well.
Simone, who used to be married to Shane and is the mother of Brooke and Jackson, reacted to her daughter’s post by leaving four heart emojis.
‘So awesome to be able to do,’ said another follower on Brooke’s post.
