After being removed from Strictly Come Dancing, Karen Hauer has gone back to using social media, and fans are expressing their disappointment with the decision.
Oh my gosh, I’m absolutely heartbroken! I just heard that the BBC decided not to renew her contract – can you believe it?! Apparently, she’s totally devastated, and honestly, I can’t blame her. She’s such an incredible dancer, and I’m just so upset for her right now. It’s just awful!
Karen, a dancer on the show for many years, is back on social media, posting casual photos with her dogs.
Oh my gosh, I just saw the most adorable pictures! She was totally relaxed, just hanging out in her dressing gown and slippers, and completely covered in her sweet fur babies. It was the cutest thing ever, honestly! She looked so happy and cozy with them all snuggled up – I’m officially jealous of her pets!
Going makeup free in the captures, Karen enjoyed a coffee as she played with her dogs.
She shared some photos with the caption: ‘Joey and Marley are pros in front of the camera, but Phoebe and I aren’t quite awake yet!’
Karen hasn’t publicly commented on being removed from the show, but her fans have been overwhelmingly supportive, criticizing the producers’ choice to eliminate her from the competition.
Someone expressed their sadness about Karen leaving Strictly Come Dancing, saying they enjoyed watching her over the years and won’t continue watching the show without her. They were confused and upset by the decision to let her go.
I was really upset to hear the news, but so happy to see you and Gorka are doing well. I’m hoping the reports aren’t true and it’s all a mistake by the BBC, in my opinion.
Like everyone else, I’m really disappointed to hear you won’t be on the show this year. It seems like a strange decision by the BBC.
I’m really disappointed with how the producers have treated the longest-serving professional dancer. They were always my favorite on the show.
I just heard the news, and I’m wondering if something unexpected happened behind the scenes at ‘Strictly’. Is it possible someone had a crisis and that’s why people are being let go?
Karen, a cast member on Strictly since 2012, recently learned her contract would not be renewed.
This news follows cuts to Nadiya Bychkova, Michelle Tsiakkas, Luba Mushtuk, and Gorka Márquez from the show. Sources say the professional dancers all knew these decisions were coming.
A source revealed to the Daily Mail that Karen is the newest professional dancer whose contract won’t be renewed for the upcoming season.
After many years on the show, Karen, the longest-serving female dancer, learned last week that she is leaving Strictly Come Dancing. It’s a changing of the guard, with new faces set to take her place.
Another source said it’s heartbreaking for the professional dancers who’ve spent their careers performing on the show.
Karen was understandably upset when she heard the news, but she’s determined to stay optimistic. She’s a choreographer and plans to dedicate more time to her creative work, alongside her existing fitness career.
Aljaž Škorjanec probably won’t be back, but Carlos Gu and Johannes Radebe are confirmed to return.
Karen’s most recent dance partner on the show was Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, the Gladiator star. Previously, she partnered with former footballer Paul Merson and, in 2023, comedian Eddie Kadi.
In 2022, she demonstrated her range as a choreographer by collaborating with comedian Jayde Adams. This followed Katya Jones’ groundbreaking performance as the first female professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing to perform in a same-sex partnership.
