This spot has been the backdrop for many of the most dramatic moments on this season of Married At First Sight.
The Daily Mail is giving readers an exclusive look inside Greyleigh, the luxurious location where the couples’ retreat from the show took place.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m always scouting out unique getaways, and this one is a gem! It’s a charming, older property nestled in the gorgeous hills near Kiama, about a two-hour drive south of Sydney. Keep in mind, a weekend stay – a minimum of two nights – can run up to $3,750.
Originally a dairy farm dating back to the 1880s, the 80-hectare property was completely renovated in a five-year, $5 million project that finished in 2019.
Oh my gosh, you guys, it’s even more amazing in person! It’s now a place for weddings and getaways, but the heart of it all is this incredible farmhouse – they call it the Homestead. It has four bedrooms and can sleep TWELVE people! Seriously, twelve! I’m already planning how I’m going to convince them to let me just live there.
This cozy retreat sits on a hillside, offering stunning views of the countryside and the ocean.
Scott and Gia were thrilled to get the beautiful master suite for their weekend getaway. It boasts a luxurious four-poster bed and a classic claw-foot tub, all set on a base of elegant Italian marble.
The house includes a covered porch perfect for outdoor dining, as well as a cozy breakfast room with a traditional country feel.
The home also features a formal dining room and charming details like antique furniture, brass chandeliers, and vintage touches—even farmhouse sinks.
Steven secured a private room in the nearby guest house for his getaway with Rachel.
This beautiful wood-framed property includes original, historic corrugated iron roofing and details, creating a charming atmosphere reminiscent of the 1800s.
Other highlights include a spa and pool with a cabana, and a BBQ area with an outdoor pizza oven
The Gables is also located on the property. Originally the farm’s dairy, it’s now a popular venue for events and features a large bar.
The Married at First Sight couples were also shown enjoying scenes filmed throughout the estate’s large gardens, filled with fig trees, camellias, and local wildflowers.
Charles Daoud and George Geagea purchased the original farm in 2017 for a private amount, as reported by The Australian. They then completed the Greyleigh conversion in 2022.
The drama began after Bec Zacharia, one of the brides, disrupted the peaceful atmosphere on the first night of the retreat with an inappropriate comment about another bride’s personal life.
I was so excited to celebrate Steven and Rachel’s progress – Bec was meant to give a toast in front of everyone! But then, she shocked us all by announcing they’d just had their first intimate moment, using a really… colorful term for it. It was definitely a memorable night, to say the least!
The couple had been struggling with closeness since the start of the experiment, and they had just told the group their good news near the main house when Bec made a joke.
During a conversation about the argument, Steve explained he hadn’t discussed private details of his relationship with Rachel, and felt Bec had wrongly assumed things about their sex life.
The drama spilled over the weekend with Bec describing the atmosphere as being like World War III.
