Michelle Pfeiffer makes a rare appearance with husband David E. Kelley at the New York premiere of The Madison after 32 years of marriage

Michelle Pfeiffer and her husband, David E. Kelley, were spotted at the New York premiere of ‘The Madison’ on Monday, marking a rare public outing for the couple.

The 67-year-old actress and her 69-year-old husband looked loving and comfortable together as they posed for photographers on the red carpet before attending an event at Jazz At Lincoln Center.

Michelle looked stylish at the premiere, wearing a brown leather jacket with a belt and a matching khaki leather skirt.

She finished her outfit with pointed, tan heels and eye-catching gold earrings.

David, her husband and a film producer, looked sharp in a black suit with a purple shirt and grey tie as he affectionately posed with his wife on the red carpet.

Elle Chapman, Beau Garrett, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Danielle Vasinova, Matthew Fox, Kurt Russell, Patrick J. Adams, Rebecca Spence, Kevin Zegers, and Ben Schnetzer were also present at the event.

The Madison tells the story of a New York family grappling with loss. They travel to rural Montana for a vacation, hoping to find healing and reconnect with each other as they navigate their grief.

This follows Michelle’s recent statement about feeling ‘lucky in love’ after being married to her husband, David, for 32 years, a milestone she celebrated last year.

Michelle, known for movies like Scarface (1983), Batman Returns (1992), and Dangerous Minds (1995), first met David on a blind date in early 1993.

Michelle shared with Jimmy Fallon the story of how her relationship with her husband of over thirty years began and developed.

‘I was kind of nervous,’ Michelle said in April of 2022, ‘and I’d had a couple of bad blind dates.

I’d told myself I was done with dating, but my best friend begged me to just go on one last date with a guy named David Kelley, and I finally agreed.

In 1993, Michelle was in the process of adopting Claudia, a two-month-old baby, and brought her home to live with her and her partner.

In a 2007 interview with Good Housekeeping, Michelle explained that she and her husband became parents relatively quickly, noting that ‘most people don’t have that experience.’

Michelle said that the unique situation helped her see what kind of man David was.

Michelle explained that she saw him face a truly challenging situation, one that would reveal his true character. She added that he handled it exceptionally well and proved his strength.

Michelle explained that the circumstances surrounding both of their lives 32 years ago created a challenging but ultimately fateful situation for their relationship.

You know, looking back, the timing of meeting my partner was just right. We actually got to experience each other as parents first, before things got really serious romantically, and it was such a relief! It strangely took the pressure off – we weren’t trying to build a relationship and navigate parenthood simultaneously. Seeing how the other one handled that role first really helped us connect on a deeper level, and allowed us to move forward as a couple with more ease.

It really shows what kind of person he is, and it proves that sticking to old methods isn’t always the smartest approach.

Michelle and David got married on November 13, 1993. Around the same time, David legally adopted Claudia.

In 1994, the couple welcomed another member of the family, in son John Henry.
